Boring,

This book just seemed to plod along at the same boring pace all throughout. It was hard to keep interested in it.
The hero in the book would often make snide remarks to the heroine about her 'special ability' which made him hard to like and made me wonder why she just didn't tell him to sod off. Not as good as some of the author's earlier books.

#2 of 5 in Wilkins' Brannon Brothers series, and the last to go digital. The hero was OK, just a little stroppy in the beginning for no reason at all. I really liked the heroine, and I liked the portrayal of her "gifts." The author sidestepped quite a few cliches there. And the mystery was enthralling, largely because of the way Wilkins kept switching from the romance to an intriguing second setting and cast of characters. Extremely well done. The ending felt a little abrupt to me; I felt the REAL story had just started. And I think the author might have felt the same way, because there is quite a bit of Ethan and Aislinn in #3, Finding Family. |
