4.0 out of 5 stars The bridge of sighs, October 8, 2011
This review is from: Bridge Across Forever (Silhouette Shadows) (Paperback)
When Ellen Cole visited Wrenn's Oak, she was charmed by the legend of the anciient stone bridge that lay at the heart of the little Welsh village. Doomed lovers, a witch's curse...A lovely old fable, nothing more - until she looked down into the rushing waters beneath the bridge and saw a shimmering vision of pure evil, undimmed by three centuries of imprisonment....

And then she met the man - if man he was - called Brenning... When he touched her, when she looked deep into his strange blue eyes, she forgot everything - even the lover waiting for her in America. All she knew was the ache of an undying passion, a passion that drew her cloer, ever closer, to the black waters beneath Wrenn's Oak Bridge....

Review: This is a serial contemporary gothing romance from the Silhouette Shadows line. Within that category, it was very well done. While Brenning's true identity was not very hard to determine, the story of his origins and that of the witch who had cursed the bridge were compelling and intriguing. The twist as to who was the true hero of the novel was also unexpected for me. Overall, an entertaining read if you're a fan of the genre.
