This book is about the Golden Gate Bridge, one of America's most loved engineering miracles. The points of difference between our book and others books about the Bridge are simple and elegant. Firstly, we let the Bridge, its planners, builders and operating professionals tell their own story. Secondly, we used a large scale format, 10 1/2 x 13 3/4, with many fascinating photos to showcase our majestic subject. Finally, we conceived a series of "historical snapshots" - pictures of world events that run concurrent with the construction of the Bridge and the formation of today's Tranportation District.
