I am a dummy when it comes to the game of bridge. This book is very comprehensive. It seems to deal with any aspect of the game. I doubt that there are too many people that know everything that is written here. It's well written and can be of help to a beginner or an old time player.

A thorough guide to all aspects of bridge, including guides to online learning, bridge clubs, etc. I wished I had bought the print version instead of the Kindle version, which doesn't have an index to surf through when looking for a particular term or play. I Realize the search and other functions are supposed to substitute for an index, but it isn't the same. How do I type in 1 (Club symbol) bid into the search? I typed in "1 club bid" and got nothing I needed. Several other frustrating searches like this occurred. I don't recommend Kindle when an index is needed to locate information quickly.

I bought this book as a reference guide, but it has been difficult to access the reference part due to the reason cited above.

Great gift for any level of skill. Betty & Dave (aka Mom & Dad) are regular bridge players with other seniors and have been playing for years.

The book was one of those gifts they hinted at, and I'm glad I got it.

Strategy is important in a thinking person's game and starting hands with an idea of how they'll play is significantly better than winging it (ask your partner!).

Good gift - or buy it for yourself.

It has been 30 years since I played Bridge, so I'm trying to relearn the game. I'm going to be playing with a newly formed group of friends and I don't want to embarass myself. I'm enjoying this book because it is detailed, easy to understand and humorous at times.

Excellent book for the the new comers to Brige. Be patient as you go through the book, chapter by chapter. Read, and re-read. Not all will come together the first time but stick to the book. Kantar has a great sense of humor and knows how to simplify the contents. He will keep you involved.

The section on Bidding is especially well crafted. Some chapters could be a bit shorter. At times, it gets over whelming. Yet as a book, I give five stars to Bridge for Dummies.

I was trying to learn to play the card game Bridge. I was having a hard time :( One of my friends suggested the book Bridge for Dummies. It is perfect for someone who has never played bridge before in their life. The book explains strategies, plays, and terminology so easily a sixth grader could understand it. Thank you so much :)
