Better than Harry Potter!,

A Bridge in the Forest captivates you from the very first chapter - I like it better than Harry Potter because it seems like the circumstances that occur could be something that might really be happening around you and not just in some mystical world - plus Lily sounds really hot!! Peace, MJN

This review is from: A Bridge in the Forest (Dreamer's Forest) (Perfect Paperback)
This book has a delightful bit of everything; high adventure, romance, fantasy. The reader is drawn into the story from the start, and sad to see it end. Thank goodness, sequels are on the way! Kudos to JoElle Martin for inviting us to share in her world! I look forward to reading more from her.

A Bridge In The Forest is the beginning of a series about elves and fairies and their interactions with humans.
Lily always was a little different growing up. For her 18th birthday, a family friend gives her specific instructions on where to camp and instructions on accessing a secret gate at the bottom of the river. Not really expecting the instructions to be anything more than a fun story, the adventure of a lifetime begins for Lily as she meets a group of friendly elves and fairies. Action, adventure, romance, and suspense all combine to create a book that I just could not put down. I enjoyed this book so much that I went ahead and purchased the next 3 books currently available in the series and zoomed through them all. You'll be meeting dragons and mages also, in later books. I am **eagerly** awaiting more books in the series.

"A Bridge in the Forest", an "enchanting" book,
This review is from: A Bridge in the Forest (Dreamer's Forest) (Perfect Paperback)
A Bridge in the Forest (Dreamer's Forest) This book, along with the other three books in the "Dreamer's Forest" series, is an excellent read for anybody with a creative imagination. The characters are like people you really would like to meeet, the scenes are described clearly, and the action is easy to follow. The author is a wonderful storyteller; you find yourself getting drawn into the story and really caring about what happens to the characters. This story is full of unforgettable people. Okay, so some of them aren't actually people--they're fairies, elves, and dragons!--but we're all open to making friends with those who are just a little unusual, aren't we? Yes, especially if they're as interesting as the characters in this story!

Weird things are happening in Lily's life. She keeps having a recurring dream about herself being a fairy, and a necklace in a box she is given won't come off her neck.
When Lily plans a trip to go camping, her elderly neighbor friend, Mrs. Rose Beth, gives Lily a cryptic request to find a specific bridge and, on the night of the full moon, look over the side of it and keep looking in the water until a gate appears. When Lily goes through the gate, she winds up in a different world filled with fairies, elves, and completely different traditions. When she makes some unusual friends in this new world, they ask for her help solving a disappearance of one of the company's betrothed over 100 years ago that seems to somehow be linked to Lily. Will Lily find a way back home? Will she be able to help her new friends solve the mystery of the disappearance? How are the two events linked? This book is filled with mystery and adventure from cover to cover. The story is unique, the characters are well-developed, and there's romance intermixed throughout the book. Readers who like romance, fantasy, action and fairy tales will enjoy reading A BRIDGE IN THE FOREST and will be wanting the second book in the series as soon as they're done. Reviewed by: Kira M
