A Brief History of HOward,
By Marion Rosser (Lafayette, LA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Brief History of Howard (Paperback)
Robert Levin has created in A Brief History of Howard an engaging and complex hero who is entirely believable even through his sometimes bizarre predicaments. He is pitted against a villain guaranteed to chill the blood, in a good versus evil plot that never becomes cliched or predictable -- and this is the book's strength. The plot is labyrinthine, with occasional fun-house mirrors appearing in the maze to redirect and confuse the reader -- and make that reader keep on reading! This is no quick-read beach book; this is one to make you ponder. Find some time and a quiet space and get to know and share life with Howard. You will not regret it. You will feel enriched.

This review is from: A Brief History of Howard (Paperback)
How do you put down a book that features a extraordinary villain that is so disturbingly powerful, so eerily potent, so dastardly and toxic, that the essence of his nefarious character bothers you even when you are not actively reading the book? This captivating character study should not be missed, for this is no ordinary horror story. This imaginative book of innocence versus evil is a cleverly written "wonder-read" !!
