There's something ultimate about London's The Big Pink. It's as though they've compressed everything that's great about post-war music into their sound. They're as accessible as a pop group, with almost folkishly warm melodies, the spiritual quality of soul and gospel, the rhythmic propulsion of rave, the white noise of punk, the glitchy textures of electronica, and the heavy drones of your favourite New York rock bands past and present.

I listen to a lot of music and this is it. A close second would be Bauhaus - Go Away White. Tough to judge something of such depth but if you like a touch of shoegaze with a swirl of dream pop, add a shot of rock swagger and Brittish tounglashing wit, your head will be spinning with this very well made work. Get the vinyl and play it loud on a good stereo. I like the whole album equally but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the track "tonight." Gotta Love It.

well, I can't really give this 5 stars as there is one or two tracks i'm not too fond of, but this is an overall excellent debut. if you like Jesus & the Mary Chain, BRMC, Darker My Love and countless other shoegazer rock like I do, then you will love this album. solid, rocking, sweeping and a really fun listen. Track 10(Tonight)is my favorite and worth the price of the CD alone-I can't stop listening to this!
