I got this machine for free using rewards points from a credit card, otherwise this is one pricey appliance. Too pricey for most people. But soley in regard to its performance attributes, I quite like it. Easy-peasy to use; the instruction booklet is actually much harder to puzzle out (not written by a native English speaker.) Brew time on the coffee is a bit slow... 10 minutes or so for a full pot. By comparison, the espresso function is zippy. Turn it on, you have espresso. Wait a minute (or less) and you have milk froth. The crema on the espresso is the best I've ever achieved at home. I'm only awarding it four stars because of the difficulty of pouring water from the coffee pot into the reservoir (you'll need a separate pitcher.)
Yes, it's expensive. That said, my sister spends $15/wk at Starbuck's. In the course of 36 weeks, she could pay for this machine. If you are that dedicated to your mocha latte or vente cappuccino, I'd say this machine is worth the price.
