Bliss, the author of three previous books of knitwear designs for children, believes that knitting for children need not mean grinding out insipid plain stockinette sweaters in "baby pastels" and primary colors. Here she has designed 25 stylish garments that give the knitter the pleasure of knitting ambitious projects on a small scale?an aran coat or a fair isle cardigan that would be more daunting in adult size. Patterns are generously sized for babies to six-year-olds and employ natural fiber yarns in a wide range of colors. Instructions include schematics for each design, color photos, and sufficient information to make it possible to substitute comparable yarns for the Rowan yarns specified. Generally recommended for knitting collections.
