This moving pop rock song by Matchbox 20 has a couple of possible meanings: the singer wants his lover to come back to him; or the lover or friend possibly wanted to die or commit suicide ("if the bright lights don't receive you"), but the singer wants this person to reconsider and "Come on home."
Either way, it makes for great listening, pondering, and of course singing along with in the car or anywhere.
