John Swana has adapted the flavor of what might best be called the classic '60s Blue Note hard bop style in an original assortment of his compositions that offer tuneful explorations and first-class stylings for today.

The music and performances are extraordinary and truly deserve a warm welcome from fans who treasure the sound of such classic small-group jazz.
