Don't put it off like I did, November 24, 1998

I thought about buying this disc for about a year before I did and I'm writing this so you don't have to. It's gorgeous and haunting. The Muses' covers of Latin Playboys songs, in this case "Crayon Sun," are just plain awesome. I haven't heard the original, but the guitar and percussion arrangements and the dark, polished sparseness of this version make it a must-hear. Similar techniques are used for the other tracks (Red Eyes and Like a Dog). They are typical Throwing Muses b-sides - which means that they are incredible and are in a class of their own. This collection is "artier" than University, but is still quality rock. It is a unique and special addition to any rock collection, and when I listened to it, I could've slapped myself for waiting so long to buy it. It's wonderful.
