4.0 out of 5 stars Better than other reviews lead you to believe
I'm surprised at the negative reviews for this album. Everyone has their own taste I suppose, but to me this is one of Ziggy Marley & The Melody Maker's best albums. I won't say it's their best of all time, but it's definitely one of their best. This album even includes one of Ziggy's best songs "Justice". I find the lyrics to be excellent, not on every track but for...

1.0 out of 5 stars AWWWWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was duped into buying this album with the promise that it was as good as Conscious Party. It isn't. I won't mince words here, this album is AWFUL. The lyric are bad, the songs seem clumsily arranged. There is a message to be sure, but he--they--need to focus on delivery too. This Bob was a master at: he had a powerful message that was delivered with some kicking...

I find the lyrics to be excellent, not on every track but for the majority of the album. And it's hard to find a track that doesn't have a good sound to it. For me this is one of those albums that I can definitely listen to from start to finish, I recommend you give it a try.

If you like Ziggy, you should like this. "Look Who's Dancing," while commercially successful is a gem...as is "One Bright Day"...

5.0 out of 5 stars a reggae Gem, August 23, 2011

This review is from: One Bright Day (Audio CD)
This album is a reggae essntial gem. But the tracks on the back are mislabeled. The correct track listing is listed inside or wikipedia.com. I am witing this review because I was blown away by how bad the rating was due to some smart asses who have no taste in music who dare to criticise a great record. And this record has such lttle reviews that just a couple bad one's slam it down to 3 and half when it should be a five star. This is actually the best Ziggy Marley album to date. If you ike reggae you will love this. Anyone who likes reggae and doen't like this record is insane.

4.0 out of 5 stars Look who's dancing AA'OOO. Look who's dancing now, October 19, 2000
This review is from: One Bright Day (Audio CD)
Look who's dancing AA'ooo; Look who's dancing now. When I listen to that I can't get it out of my head. Thats a good thing though. Perfect album to listen to when you're in traffic. Normally when an album has two versions of the same song one bites. No so on One Bright Day. Both versions of When the lights gone out flow. All love, Problems, All you got, and Urban Music are the highlights. Other tracks are good too.

Well done overall. Not a classic but certainly worth putting in the line up of fun music. Good for travel.

1.0 out of 5 stars An Awful Album!!!!! DO NOT BUY IT!!!!, September 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: One Bright Day (Audio CD)
My cousin recommended this album to me, telling me it was as good as Conscious Party. I tried to like it. I really did. But I had to face facts: it is an AWFUL album. In terms of quality, it is not even close to Conscious Party. The lyrics are terrible!! They are poorly written, simplistic, and his delivery stinks. To this day, I refuse to purchase another Ziggy Marley album for fear of being duped again.
