3.0 out of 5 stars Average Set of Flash Cards
The material on the cards is fine (no problem here). The problem I have with the set that was sent me was that they are not printed on card stock. I bought this set due to good reveiws and statements that they are sturdy. I like the contents, but am not at all happy with how flimsy these cards are. They are printed on a paper stock (not a card stock). In my opinion these...

At least twice a day my 2 year old son asks to play with these. (I have them on a shelf so there won't be a tornado of cards all over the house)

He loves for me to hold them up and have him tell me what is -- he also loves to look at them by himself and sort them by shapes, colors or letters etc.

The Phonics Cards have helped him identify lots of new words even though he doesn't get the true concept of phonics yet.

The Numbers Cards have objects on one side and the appropriate number on the back. He could count to twenty before we got these and now thanks to these we've easily worked up to thirty. Even though the cards only go up to 26. (there are 54 cards in each set)

The Alphabet Cards are a little boring to him (because there are only the letter and picture on them -- no words and they are only one sided) but he still likes them every now and then and enjoys looking at them and identifying the pictures and placing them in alphabetical order by either lower or upper case.

The Color and Shapes cards are a regular favorite because they show 6 different shapes in 9 different colors. He likes to either sort them in piles by shape or color.

The First Words cards are the only 'true' flash cards because they have the word only on one side and the picture on the other. These are my son's favorite.

The Sight Words cards probably get the least amount of use right now but my son is enjoying them more and more -- mainly I think because he loves letters so much that he is entertained by just *looking* at words. These are definitely a little advanced for my son but it's nice to have something to work up to.

All in all, this has been a great purchase. The cards are fairly sturdy, as is the box they go in. They are especially GREAT rainy day fun!

There are good cards out there that are sturdy (Thicker stock). The set sent to me is nice in that is a collection, but is useuless in how fragile they are. The half boxes holding each set fell apart while we opeend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vocabulary Building for Kids w/Special Needs, October 12, 2006
This review is from: Brighter Child Early Learning Fun Flash Cards (Cards)
My 4 year old son Zyon has Down syndrome and I work with him at the least 20 mins. per day using this product. It has really helped with building his vocabulary words. Almost everyday, Zyon gives it to us, because he loves to learn. Plus, we make it fun for him to learn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good learning tool, March 13, 2006
This review is from: Brighter Child Early Learning Fun Flash Cards (Cards)
My son is only 3.5, and he LOVES these colorful, sturdy cards. He is already pretty good with colors and numbers, but now he seems enthusiastic about learning words also. Definitely a good choice for learning at home.

This is a value for money set that has the ABC flashcards, numbers, first words, colors and shapes, phonics & sight words...and all come labelled for the age group they would be appropriate for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Learning tools, January 11, 2007
This review is from: Brighter Child Early Learning Fun Flash Cards (Cards)
I bought these cards to use on my two preschool children. One of my children has learning disabilities, so it is difficult to find flashcards that he likes or wants to use. He loves these! He gets so excited everyday when we get them out to use them!

This is a great product! Well worth it!

We love these flash cards, and our daughter does too. They really help, plus the box is sturdy and easy to store without worry about misplacing any cards. I highly recommend this product. It is also a gift worth giving (especially grandparents to grandchildren).

5.0 out of 5 stars Early Learning Fun, March 15, 2006
This review is from: Brighter Child Early Learning Fun Flash Cards (Cards)
I enjoy reviewing the flash cards with my 4 year old daughter every night before bed. It's a nice way to get away from the TV and interact with her. I start talking about it as soon as I get home. By the time it's bedtime, she wants to do "Shapes and Colors" or "Numbers" (her favorite) or "Sight Words".... She's really enjoying it. Hopefully, she will be ready to start reading in a few months.

2.0 out of 5 stars crap, November 2, 2008

I'd have to say that these are the cheapest flash cards that I've used... After having the baby einstein ones (these thick and aren't flimsy) these just weren't worth the money. I liked how much info was there, but when you have a three year old that you are trying to use them for... well, you get the idea.
