5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME GAME FOR EVERYONE~!
My husband and I both love comic books, and so does our niece (6). This game is fun and engaging, it has various levels for older and younger players. It is a great game for any fan-family who loves their marvel heroes!

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun for 15 minutes
I was disappointed with this DVD game. The computer graphics used in it were nice, but the content was dull.

It's comprised of 7 or so mini games. Some examples are :

- a Memory-style card matching game. This was okay.

- a simple Maze game in which you must navigate your way by making 2 decisions. This was too simplistic...

This was too simplistic

- a Scene It style game of remembering details from a 1990's era Marvel cartoon. The cartoons were dull as were the questions.

- a trivia game (my favorite part since it used obscure questions in the hard level)

- a roof top jumping game. This was poorly executed. You're given a 1st person view of jumping off the roof (Is this such a good idea?). And then you must press a button at the right time without much of a visual cue.

As rewards for finishing a mini game, you are given a short animation clip of villains getting jailed. The animation is 3D but all the characters are 2D clip art. So you will see your favorite characters shrinking, growing, or rotating.

There is no educational aspect of this game besides trivia of Marvel superheroes.

The board game aspect seemed to be thrown in to make it more valuable. Basically, you roll a die to move around a board. When your cardboard character reaches a square, you play that mini game on the TV.

One nice aspect was the implementation of 3 difficulty levels to let people of different ages play. The DVD also keeps score.

But if you really wanted to see a fun use of Marvel characters, buy the video game Marvel Ultimate Alliance instead. You could play that for dozens of more hours.

I thought that this would be a fun game for my boys and myslef to play. It moves entirely too slow and was not as much fun as i had thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun game with great graphics - finally a game with a girl hero!, May 5, 2008

Is it a DVD? Is it a board game? It's both -- a DVD board game. You start on a game board, roll the die, move your hero and the spot you land on indicates what assignment you will take on. Assignments are shown on the TV and can involve selecting the best path through the city to capture the villain before he/she gets away, which you accomplish with the use of the TV remote. If you succeed, the villain is locked up and you earn one of the villain cards. The cards are gorgeous -- Viper, Leader Lizard, Magneto, Mr. Sinister - over twenty of them. He who has the most villains - wins. If you prefer, you can play without the board, and just take turns with the assignments. There are also trivia quizzes, and a matching body parts game so if you don't know your Marvel heroes and villains when you start, you will after a few games.

While the cards for the super villains are great, the token heroes are just that - tokens. I wanted 3D miniature super heroes. Playing on the TV and board makes it a natural for family play. DVD player, TV and remote are required and not supplied. An interesting trend is emerging where games are independent of console, computer or handheld and rely upon the TV, DVD player and remote.

Fun Factor: Quite amusing but mostly for the younger set.
Female Factor: At least one female super hero and super villain.
Player Friendly: Easy to play.
