Brightest and Best::Stories Of Hymns,
By Stuart "Enrico" (NYC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Brightest and Best (Paperback)
Father Rutler is a very great writer and uses language beautifully.
This book is wonderful not only for its historical value but also the inspirational, it will give you a great insight into the true meaning of "Sacred Music" and a desire to investigate further the great treasure of church music, which has sadly been ignored, suppressed, and replaced by cheap TV like jingles. The History of Western Music begins with The Catholic Church. Father Rutlers command of the English language is un-equalled and may I add is a lesson in writing as an art form. |
