a funny, charming romp of a regency....., July 8, 2007
This review is from: Brighton Road (Mass Market Paperback)
this was a terrific regency romance. The book is well written in a farcical "comedy of errors" style that is so enjoyable that you'll eat it up in one sitting as I did.
The stories heroine, Gwenda, is an adorable character. A well bred lady but a "bluestocking", and quite a bit of a hoyden-who unwittingly overhears the darkly handsome hero, Lord Ravenel, giving a somewhat milk toast marriage proposal to a blonde but vapid beauty.
What follows is a charming, sweet and hilarious adventure that any regency fan is sure to enjoy-especially there adventures causing by Gwenda's big carriage hound, Spotted Bert or Bertie.
5 stars-highly recommended!

delightful!, February 26, 2010
This review is from: Brighton Road (Mass Market Paperback)
This story is romantic, light-hearted, and funny. I love that the hero, although typically tall, dark, and handsome, has a streak of insecurity that just makes him all the more endearing and gives him a touch of human-ness so often lacking in the heros of most romances. And the heroine is simply delightful as she tries to take a bit of the starch out of our hero. A romantic novel that's also fun! Love this book!
