This review is from: Brilliant Green (Audio CD)
I've been working my way back from The Winter Album to The Brilliant Green's first, self-titled album. Having previously enjoyed every other album, I had absolutely no doubt that I'd enjoy the one that started it all... and I was completely right. This one is different in that it features a more acoustic sound overall, but the feel is the same. Newcomers to jrock/pop should enjoy this album quite a bit, but it has a distinctly American/British rock sound that's unlike pretty much any jrock I've listened to. The vocals produced by Tomoko Kawase have a lot of fullness to them that isn't heard as much among the typical high-pitched super-clear tones of the genre, and they pretty much push the whole effort forward. I haven't yet listened to the new TBG album "Blackout", but am looking forward to hearing it as well.

Very highly recommended.
