Caroline Lavelle has played with many world class musicians, and this, her second solo CD, is the synthesis of that experience. This is her independent reissue of the CD, and the bonus tracks and reorganization of the songs "the way they should be" makes it worthwhile. A beautiful recording for those craving more from Sarah McLachlan or Sinead O'Connor.
Check out Caroline's website and look for her US tour in 2003!

Caroline Lavelle blends wonderfully her past experiences with electronics (William Orbit, Hector Zazou) and her ability as a celloist and composer in this album, balancing between pop influences and a deep passionate sound of strings and vocals. The final result is a deeply organic album, which departs from her previous solo experience and ventures into an almost classical environment. From the musical transposition of poems from World War I, to the anxiety caused by insomnia to a relationship narrated with metaphores from the natural world, Brillian Midnight revals itself as an intimate travel through the human soul.

...of waiting for this out of print CD to come out at a good price...Amazon finally had one for under $11.00, I bit the bullet & I am well please with the service & product to finish my collection of Caroline Lavelle 3 CDs. She is a singer songwriter Cello players that writes music of many styles from folk, jazz, progressive rock, to classical music. She plays her Cello for many famous musicians & today plays in Loreena McKennitt's band. A must for any multi facet music lover.

There are 2 versions of this CD, this review is about the 2nd version with 3 added songs which is why the title states 2.0
