Wonderful!
Fits the shorter fatter sticks of butter that CA markets carry. Would be too short for East Coast sticks, though.

Finger prints!
This is beautiful, but don't touch! Come on, it's a butter dish! It get's every finger print a user would make to just lift cover off and on. If it had a little loop on top to lift off cover it would have been a far better design. It looks just lovely in a china cabinet, but you have to carry it in a soft cloth to get it there without leaving a finger print. Don't...

If you buy the bigger sizes of butter, for example, from Costco, you know you have to cut them down to 1/2 cup sticks in order to use a regular butter dish. This dish is not a rectangle. it's a nice big square. Beautiful sheen and patina. Lovely item.

I bought this as an addition to my stainless steel appliances. As long as you take care of it as a stainless steel item (drying it off so water doesnt dry and form spots) it stays looking new! It makes it a stylish butter serving dish as well.
