5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect "pocket" toy
This toy has been a lifesaver - always ready to go (the green plastic base doubles as a carrying case and everything fits inside), this is the toy that I grab in a hurry. It has been along with us to countless hospital waiting rooms, doctor's offices, long trips in the car, etc. etc. My son never seems to tire of it. Our Thomas doesn't wind up so well anymore, my son...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea but...
I bought this toy for my four year old son, it worked great right out of the box...for about an hour. My son had difficulty winding the train up and because of this he would accidentally wind it backwards, which ended up breaking the train in no time flat. This toy while working did bring a big smile to his face and he giggled while watching Thomas cross over the...

Affordable, portable, fits easily in diaper bag. Perfect for eating out, doctor's office, plane rides. Only break it out when needed, and you'll have perfectly entertained toddlers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A quiet meal!!, November 3, 2003

This is the best ten bucks I ever spent. My two year old doesn't yet know how to sit still or let the grown-ups talk durring dinner out. This toy lets us have a nice relaxing meal. We save it for dinners out or for when company comes. This way he can be at the table with all of us and neither me nor my DH have to take him away and miss the conversation. I will definitely buy a second one for my youngest when he is old enought.

I just got this for my 3 year old Thomas fanatic son. We were going to a fancy restuarant for my dads birthday and I wanted him to behave. Well, this tiny little toy kept him busy the entire time. He absolutely loved it. My only complaint is that the little peices (the horses) kept falling off the table. Other than that, I cant wait for them to come out with more of these toys. Excellent idea. It fit in my purse perfectly, all the peices fit inside very well with no force necessary- he did all the work himself. For the price, excellent value.

I bought this toy for my 20 month old when we had to take a plane across country by ourselves. He loved it - it kept him occupied for a good half hour...which at 20 months is quite a lot to ask! I recommend it to anyone who needs to amuse a little one in a seat for an extended period of time. And you don't need to wait until he is three.

I have to say, this is the best ten dollars I've ever spent. We love it so much, I bought another one in case ours breaks. Take this to a restaurant and you will actually be able to eat your meal. I keep it in the diaper bag and we only play with it when we're out to eat, so it stays "new" to my son. Beware, though...you will end up with other children looking on longingly!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great Idea!!!, March 18, 2005
This review is from: Bring Along Thomas the Train Set (Toy)
Both my boys are truely Thomas lovers. Everything is Thomas the Tank Engine. My children love this toy. We have two of them and I have purchased two additional ones for friends and family. This toy is compact, great for small children and I loved that the detachable pieces fit into the carrying case. We have taken these into restaurants, on vacation etc... It is great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for boys AND girls, September 21, 2005

This review is from: Bring Along Thomas the Train Set (Toy)
My girls ages 4 and almost 2 absolutely love their "take along thomas". We had a 2 1/2 hour flight and needed new entertainment. I ordered one for each of them and they loved playing with Thomas on the lap trays on the airplane. My 4 year old requests to bring Thomas out to dinner to play while she waits for her food and my 2 year old plays with Thomas while we wait for the 4 year old to finish dance class. It is a kid magnet where ever we go and all enjoy it tremendously. I gave it 4 stars because it is difficult for the little ones to wind Thomas without help and our train station has already lost part of its peg that holds it to the board, but the kids push Thomas instead of winding it up and the station stays OK even with just one peg, instead of 2. I highly recommend this toy for every Thomas fan out there. Inside the case there is even room to add a couple more small toys. My daughter has added a couple small dinosaurs that she insists also live on Sodor with Thomas.

My son had difficulty winding the train up and because of this he would accidentally wind it backwards, which ended up breaking the train in no time flat. This toy while working did bring a big smile to his face and he giggled while watching Thomas cross over the bridge, I just wish the train had been made differently, maybe a push and go or something a bit easier to use for 3 years and up.
