5.0 out of 5 stars Matter of faith, not money!
For those pastors who would like to understand how to begin a stewardship camapaign, Watley's book on tithing is essential. He first helps the pastor understand the nature of stewardship: stewardwhip is not a campaign to raise money for a chruch, it is a campaign that teaches how to express our praise and thanksgiving to God for what God has already done in our lives...

2.0 out of 5 stars Tithe is of the Law, NOT Grace
Before you swallow the notion of tithing, better read "The Tithe That Binds", or look at the contrary view. There is NOT A SINGLE VERSE in the NT instructing Christians to tithe. Nor is the church ever called the "storehouse" in the NT. Jesus himself said tithing is "of the matters of the law" which contradicts every grace based tithe teaching. Biblical giving freely,...

For those pastors who would like to understand how to begin a stewardship camapaign, Watley's book on tithing is essential. He first helps the pastor understand the nature of stewardship: stewardwhip is not a campaign to raise money for a chruch, it is a campaign that teaches how to express our praise and thanksgiving to God for what God has already done in our lives through faithful giving. Those who hear the messages contained in Watley's book will undoubltly remark that their new understanding of tithing has changed their faith walk. Watley's messages expertly lead people to receive the tithing message painlessly. Believe me, hearing these messages preached and using the guidlines he suggests, will transform your church. It has mine!

Biblical giving freely, and lovingly to those in need is where Christians gave, rather than to support buildings and staffs. Tithing and salaries corrupts ministers. Paul never took tithes and he worked to support himself. He even told the church leaders in Ephesus they should follow his example! Working with their hands and laboring to support the weak rather than taking from them in the name of blessing. Read Acts 20 real close. He told the Corinthians and Thessalonican churches the same thing. "That I make the gospel WITHOUT EXPENSE" Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? IICor. 11
