This is NOT a Hopalong Cassidy novel,

The protagonist's name in this novel is Tom Boyd and it takes place in the early 1840's. It has nothing to do with Mulford's Hopalong Cassidy so don't be expecting Hoppy to be there.
I have rated this 1 star only because it is mislabeled. The story is 5 star, though, with the first 7 chapters giving an excellent description of steamboat travel up the Missouri River. |
