Product Description

Bring It On ~ Bring It On (2000 Film)

Amazon.com

Maybe you can't find your Olivia Newton-John Physical album or don't want to get caught cranking the Jane Fonda Workout video, in which case the new Peyton Reed comedy about two rival cheerleading teams features a perfect soundtrack to get your butt bustin' a move in short order and in modern style. This breezy collection serves as a showcase for the many hip-hop R&B vocal groups currently on the Sony Music roster (Blaque, B*Witched, and Sygnature). Dublin's youthful teen group B*Witched revive and update Toni Basil's one-hit wonder, the cheerleader anthem "Mickey," while TLC's Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez's protégés Blaque contribute two versions of "As If" and a remix of "Bring It All to Me." Old-school New York City trio the Jungle Brothers add a Mardi Gras groove to "Freakin' You." Lauren Mayhew, who plays Marra on the afternoon soap Guiding Light, leads her group P.Y.T. with "Anywhere U.S.A," a blend of hip-hop beats and mainstream pop appeal. --Rob O'Connor

If you liked the music in the movie, buy the soundtrack as most of the songs (With the exception of 3LW) are inlcuded in the movie, or so the album back says.

There are only two songs on this cd that I don't like.

Let me say immediately that I loved this movie. I liked it so much I went back...and back...and back. And it was after my first viewing on opening night that I ran to my local Wal-Mart and bought the soundtrack. I was so dissapointed.
Is the CD worth buying? Absolutely. The music is high energy and diverse, and Blaque's "As If" conjures up both smooth grooves and wonderful memories (particularly of one wonderful scene) of the movie. But on the relatively conservative 13 tracks (two of which are simply second versions--not remixes--of previously released or performed songs), the negatives with this soundtrack become clear.
It's not what this CD has, it's what it doesn't. And what it doesn't have is quite a lot of the great music in the film.
Great comedy soundtracks have found many ways to feature their material...from quips and punchlines from the film (the "this is not a democracy...it's a cheerocracy" line would have been perfect) as well as the novelty songs performed by characters in the films. What would the TRICK soundtrack be without Tori Spelling's over-the-top performance of "Enter You" or THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE's "Greg Brady's" "Clowns Never Laughed Before" and the various Brady songs? No such luck here. The incredible "Torrance: You're Just What I Need" song which is used not only in a key scene in the film, but also again as part of the competition is completely absent from the soundtrack.
But this movie is about a lot more than comedy and live performances. (Forgive me for not knowing the titles and artists of some of these), but there is a great song "Do you Wanna go My Way?" during the Spirit Stick scene -- not there.

The songs I loved in the movie were not the ones that ended up on the soundtrack. This CD is a collection of JockJams, without great songs by Sum41 and Mest that you hear in the movies. I was really looking for the song "Just What I Need" that is written for Torrance in the movie. ...

In case anyone else is looking for it, the song that's playing during the stolen cheer (the one that begins with "Brr, it's cold in here") is The 900 # by The 45 King. It's too bad they left it off the soundtrack!

Anyone looking for the song "You're Just What I Need" featured in this movie can find the song on the CD "More Than A Lot" by Rufus King. It's a very hard-to-find CD because the band didn't have a label but I found it on cdbaby.com. Don't know if it's still for sale there or not but the CD is worth it.

I was rather disappointed with this soundtrack. I purchased it specifically because I wanted the cheers and the song Cliff wrote for Torrence along with the remixes from the Cheerleading contests. None of these were on the soundtrack!! Instead there were a few songs from the movie and other songs that were not that good, I didn't even notice they were in the movie.
Don't purchase this cd if you are looking for the good songs from Bring It On. You will be disappointed.

Ok this is a very decent cd with lots of great songs from the movie, the only problem i had with it was one of my favorite songs from the movie was the song that was on the tape that the brother gave to the main girl. That sounded like an alternative song and made her dance like crazy on the bed. I don't know why they left that song out of the soundtrack. Also they left out "happy boy and happy girl" by aqua.

It was a poor decision to put this album out without including some of the best songs in the movie. Where is the song “JUST WHAT I NEED” by Rufus King and who’s decision was it to not put it on the soundtrack. Good judgement is obviously used sparingly by the person who put this soundtrack together. The song “Just What I Need” is not sung by Cliff in real life. RUFUS KING is the band to credit for the amazing track. RUFUS KING is a real band from LA and you can buy their CD, MORE THAN A LOT, with "JUST WHAT I NEED."

The movie "Bring It On" is likeable and peppy because it is quite unlike most other teenage movies. The soundtrack, however, trades originality for mainstream, playing only the songs they think people want to hear. Most of the songs from the competitions are missing, as well as some of the songs from the trailer. The movie is terrific, but the soundtrack is basically a letdown.
