Review

Reviews from Amazon Readers-

"This story really touched me and pulled on my emotional strings.  For the human soul to go through the trials of these two people and manage to come out stronger and still have the ability to love, amazes me.  The author brought out so many emotions in me.  This is a keeper."- C.R.S

"This book is amazing! Had me grabbed from the beginning, and I couldn't put it down until I finished it!..." Heather

"Beautiful story. Will definitely be adding this author to one of my favorites. Story had me glued and couldn't put it down." Lisa D Williams

More About the Author

Taryn discovered her love for books at an early age, spending many hours lost in someone else's story.

It wasn't until well into adult hood that she discovered, late at night while the house was quiet, that she had just as many stories inside her just waiting to be let out. Writing has been a way for her to step away from reality and live a bit through her fun and sometimes damaged characters. You will almost always find a Happy Ever After at the end of her stories. She can't help it, it's an addiction.

She lives in a small city in the Mid-Atlantic with her husband of eighteen years and two incredible daughters who inspire her daily. She is proud to be an advocate for her child with autism, and feels incredibly blessed to be able to see the world through her eyes. Both of her daughters teach her more than she could ever teach them.

She enjoys reading, writing and spending time with her family, but cherishes those quiet nights after everyone is asleep when she can curl up on the couch with her geriatric dog. (Shh, don't tell...He's not supposed to be on the couch.)
Keep an eye out for more from her!

This was a love story of two broken souls finding each other next door and fitting together to make something beautiful. Ally had been through a traumatic family murder and Ian had lost his fiancé to cancer. Both just wanted to be left alone and sought isolation to grieve. When Ally becomes too sick to stay home, Ian becomes her lifeline and her miracle worker and she unwittingly helps him to heal too.

"It sucks when someone you know turns into someone you knew, especially when it is yourself." - Ally

"It is astounding how when you look at me I may seem Ok, like I have it all together, but if you see me when no one's around I'm thoroughly broken inside and struggling to put the pieces back together" - Ian

Ian shows his inner beauty way before he ever falls in love with Ally or realizes she is beautiful to him. He proves his loyalty, dependability and honesty way before he claims her beautiful body as his own. I also like the alternating POVs so you know what each character is thinking.

While I liked the love story, there were several parts that left a little to be desired and I did end up skimming some of the cheesing moments in the end. The declaration of love was unnecessarily prolonged and misunderstandings took up the space. There was some editing issues such as missing "i" in the word "in" and some extra letters to some words. There was some descriptive sex towards the end.

I enjoyed this book but I will warn so you go in with your eyes open. The entire book is written in first person and switches back and forth between the characters chapter to chapter. I dislike this type of format but after getting into the book I adapted. This is not one of those upbeat feel good stories you jump in head first from the first paragraph and it spirals downward from there. For those of you that are more picky than me i'll mention that there were some typos both with grammer and format but I was able to overlook this since the story kept me engaged. I personally don't like reading books that make me think, "WOW...this all really could have actually happened" needless to mention I didn't sleep till 3am thinking over what I had just read. I think that speaks volumes for the authors writing ability there were times I actually felt I was there experiencing the things the h was feeling and broke out my tissues on more than one occasion. Personally I would have written the characters a bit older than their early 20's since these were heavy issues for such young adults but thats just me. Overall I recommend it and loved the ending (predictable) it's one of those books you will only read once. I was glad to have downloaded it for free but I wouldn't have been disapointed had I paid for it. Enjoy and Happy Reading.

Enjoyed that the story is told by both of the main characters so you know exactly how they feel and what they are thinking. The bonds between Alley and Ian form as the story unravels painting a picture of their tragic pasts. As the characters fell in love with each other I fell in love with this easy read.

I read about 10 pages- and just could not go on. Most sentences started with,"I"

The writing seemed amateurish and needs to be developed. There was no way I was reading another word after this paragraph.

"I put the groceries away and made myself a sandwich for dinner. I carried the plate to my back room that was used as my studio to work on my projects. I was working on a mosaic table from colored glass. I had mapped it out several times, but still wasn't entirely happy with the way it looked. I figured I would fiddle with it until it was time for me to go for a run."

5 sentences- 6 times using the "I"

No thanks.

I like how this was written showing the individual perspective of Ally and Ian. Two people coming from two devastating pasts decided to be solitary for life then they found love. Both embracing the love, realizing that there's always life after hardships.

The 2 characters have had their own tragedies and have secluded themselves. Through sickness, they have to depend on each other and fall in love.

I liked this book very much. It has a different story line to most books that I read. It told of how devastating the loss of a loved one can be. It is also a good love story.
