Ok I AM a huge fan of Evanescence, and i still felt let down with this buy. "Bring Me to Life" is great, but don't be fooled by the Bliss Mix. All the Bliss Mix is, is "Bring Me To Life" without Paul McCoy's lines, that is it.

As for the other songs, while its great to get them, since they were cut from the album, they are not that good. The slow "Missing", however, is better than the fast, hard "Farther Away". The 3rd song cut from the album, "Breathe No More", is much better; sadly it is not on this single.

If you want to have Bing Me to Life without buying the album, or want to have the 2 extra songs, go for it. Other than that, be wary about buying this single.

I bought this album on ebay from australia. I fell in love with Bring me to life last summer (the reviewer below mine can kiss it if he thinks he's special). I have reciently become a devoted fan and have acquired EVERY track ever released by the band. I was even lucky enough to get an actual copy of the 2000 Big Wig release of Origin.

I love this single because it has 'Missing' and 'Farther Away' on it, 2 previously unreleased tracks. Sadly, since this particular version of the single was recalled for one that included a CD-ROM video, the general public has been deprived of 'Missing', unless you download a version loaded with nasty interruptions or an incomplete re-constructed version (as is found on the fake Origin from europe). This extremely beautiful song will forever captivate those lucky enough to hear it.

Farther Away is performed live as part of Evanescence's set. It's such an awesome song (the energy Amy sings it with is awe-inspiring), but I can see why wind-up would remove it from 'Fallen'. The song seems sort-of artificial and it doesn't flow with the rest of Fallen. It's better live because, when you sing along, people arround you are like 'what the heck? how do you know that song?!'

Any true Evanescence fan agrees that Paul McCoy Ruined Bring me to life. I'm not saying I totally hate it and everyone involved for it, but his part is so last-minute and manufactured, that it gives the ballad a completely different feel. The bliss mix now replaces the album version on all of my computer playlists.

The album version, though with it's faults, is what captivated me to love evanescence in the first place. The strong emotion Amy Lee put into all of her songs make them all true gems in this world.

Unfortunately, they replaced the "Missing" track with a video version of "Bring Me To Life". This makes it a lot harder to decide whether this CD is worth the money.

A good reason to get this CD is if you actually prefer the Bliss version of "Bring Me To Life" (with no Paul McCoy) over the album version that most of us are already used to. However, if you've grown accustomed to Paul's part in the song, then the Bliss version will sound like it has something missing (even though Evanescence had originally intended to record the song without Paul) and there's a good chance you won't like it. Honestly, I don't see much difference and I can't really decide which one I prefer. The body of the lyrics remain intact in both versions so none of the meaning of the song is lost. The little back-and-forth that Amy and Paul have right before the final chorus just reiterates what she's been saying all along, so lyrically they're relatively similar. I guess it's just a matter of taste.

Also on this CD is "Farther Away". It's a good, loud song but it's not one of their best. If you're a die-hard Evanescence fan and *need* to own all of their songs, then getting this CD might be just what you need. Otherwise, I'm not sure if this alone is worth the price of the CD.

Let me say this loud and clear: This single is NOT for the mass of new fans brought in by BMtL who already have 'Fallen' or the DareDevil soundtrack. ...

So who should be buying this 4-track cd? Those who only want a cd copy of BMtL and not either of the above mentioned albums, and the original fans.

I've been a fan of Evanescence ever since December, '98, when I was lucky enough to catch their concert at Vino's in Little Rock, AR while visiting a friend. I'm one of the 100 who own the first EP, as well as one of 50 who were able to sneak in an order at BigWig Enterprises for the second EP. ...

So this single is for me, and everyone else who fell in love with Ben and Amy's music before BmtL was ever released. It's for the fanbase that's been desperate for a copy of BMtL WITHOUT Paul's vocals, as it was originally intended. For those who were angry when it was announced that the label insisted on cutting Farther Away, Missing, and Breathe No More (still yet to make an appearance) from 'Fallen', despite protest from the band.

And honestly, if you know who Gabe is, smile at the mention of Exodus, and cringe when 'the board that shall not be named' is brought up....you probably preordered this single the instant it was listed on Amazon.

Like I did.

Just for drill, here's a track by track:

1. Bring Me To Life - if you haven't heard BMtL, you've been living under a rock.
2. BmtL (Bliss Mix) - Paul's vocals have been cut out from this version, which is something half the original fandom probably wept with joy over.
3. Farther Away - hard edged song, complete with guitar riffs...most definately a favorite within the original fandom.
4. Missing - Beautiful ballad..it's been a favorite of mine since I got my hands on the 2002 demo.

I don't normally listen to top 40 rock music. I am a hip hop, reggae, R&B fan. When I heard 'Bring Me to Life', I could not get enough of it. I wish they had an extended mix version which runs at least 15 minutes. Not a day goes by without a need to hear it. It has become my daily music fix and I haven't tired of it yet. It gives me goose bumps when I listen to it. The rush I feel when I hear it really gets my blood pumping. When I work out I can go farther when it plays. Something about it is just addictive. The lyrics have great depth and feeling. It is a wonderful piece of art.

I prefer the version with the added vocals of Paul McCoy. The Bliss Mix is potent but it's like a good stew with an ingredient missing. Farther away is also very good to listen to. I'm glad I bought this CD so I can hear it whenever I need to.

Awesome rad rock song with female vocals, soaring piano and electric guitar riffs, and beautiful orchestral cues. In other words, a breath of fresh air! Nothing like you ever heard.

I purchased Evanescence's "Bring me to life/ Farther away" import single that is advertised here. However I was surprized to find out it did not include the song "missing", The song has been replaced by the video version of bring me to life, for cd-rom, and that's fine. The single is great, but don't expect to get the original import(AUS.)(2003).

I never was a fan of "remix" versions of songs, but the two unreleased songs, Missing and Farther Away, make this CD worth the money. "Missing" follows the beat of "My Immortal" and "Hello" from the album Fallen, where the beat of "Farther Away" follows that of "Going Under" and "Bring me to life".
Too bad Evanescence's first CD "Origin" is only availible on [another website] (at a premium price to match its rare-ity). There are several other songs that have yet to be released, hopefully they will make their way to Amazon's warehouse sooner rather than later.

I've been a fan of Evanescence since 2000 when my friend played me a demo CD he'd got hold of. He slapped it on and Evanescence's Origin began to thunder through my ears. It was breathtaking. Their songwriting was different to the usual angry edge most rockbands take. The music was meaningful and different...but what I rememeber mostly was Amy Lee's stunning voice.

Then, nearly three years later, they re-appeared again. Somebody had finally discovered them and thrust them into the limelight and this was what they produced. I'd downloaded a demo version of this song and thought it was breathtaking...but remixed, with orchestration, I've got to say without a doubt, Bring Me To Life is one of the most amazing pieces of music I have ever heard. The desperation in Amy's voice is heart-wrenching, the guitars crunch and the string line soars. A lot of people don't seem to like 12 Stone's Paul McCoy's additional vocals, but I think they compliment Amy's haunting, pseudo operatic voice well. The bridge before the final climactic chorus sent a shiver down my spine. It's easily one of the greatest songs of all time.

The Bliss mix is great - without Paul's vocals you suddenly hear elements of the song you didn't realise were there (Amy whispering 'don't let me die here' had previously been lost on me). Farther Away is an amazing track. Again, the desperation of her voice and the stunning subtlety of their lyirics is amazing.

The single definitely loses something without the beautifully haunting Missing (as does the album), but it's still a great CD. If you appreciate why this song is so breathtaking, buy it immediately.

I don't usually listen to this type of music but this is awesome! I am very glad I am getting their CD for Christmas ...
I hope to look into more of their stuff in the future and I know I am very glad I got this . .
