5.0 out of 5 stars Southern Blues Rock at its Finest
This can be kept very simple.
Do you like gritty, heartfelt blues?
Do you like dynamic slide guitar?
Do you like inventive percussion?
Do you like whiskey-ragged vocals?
Then buy this album.
In fact, buy five.

I listened to this CD several times. It's close to having "it" but it doesn't. Keep trying guys and relax and have fun. Play music don't work it.

I saw these guys in new haven 2 years in a row probably 3 years past at cafe 9 and they rocked the place. they played with the black diamond heavies, another band i would highly recommend, but they stole the show. got to talk to them afterwords and really nice guys, both former if not present cooks like myself. still love to play their cd in the kitchen

I have this album on vinyl AND cd. It's just that awesome. Hillbilly bluesrock goodness. Washboards, resonator guitars, paint cans, and a truckload of swagger. Great riffs and percussion, with plenty of raunchy slide guitar. What it lacks in production/studio-quality it more than makes up for with its straight-from-the-hip all-out rock-n-rollness. These guys were born to make this music and it shows. They put on a hell of a live show too, if you ever get the chance to see them. Do yourself a favor and buy this album. There aren't many bands that can bring it like they do. Quick story, I spent 4 days hiking/camping in the mountains Peru (no modern conveniences), and when I made it back to civilization (and my iPod) this album was the first thing I listened to. I have many albums to choose from on my iPod but after 4 days without music - this album was just what the doctor ordered. Play it LOUD and proud.

I own over 1200 CDs and this CD has the distinction of being the only album in my CD player for the last week and a half. Instead of stringing together a series of impressive adjectives for this album, let me simply sum up its amazingness in two words - awesome and rockin'!

The tunes are all head bobbers, the band has a distinctive gravely rock and blues sound, and all of the tracks are different enough that they all sound distinct. The TWO!!! band members will make you question why traditional bands have 4 or 5 members when their sound is so full and heavy with only two instruments being played.

This CD is as fresh as to me as when I heard my first Black Keys album. Do yourself and the rest of the world a favor and order this album!!!
