About the Author

Prof. Ilise L. Feitshans JD and ScM has written many articles and books in occupational health, law and the jurisprudence of pregnancy. She has served on several regulatory committees and in 1998 was appointed Legal Advisor to an international Committee of Experts on Reproductive Health in the Workplace. She is the Former Acting Director, Legislative Drafting Research Fund, Columbia University School of Law. She believes that legal information must be made accessible to all people and that lawyers must understand and appreciate other disciplines in order to function in the complex areas of occupational and environmental health and toxic torts. She has a BA Cum Laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center and a Masters of Science in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.
