3.0 out of 5 stars Japan in the 90s...kind of..., February 22, 2009

This review is from: Bringing Home the Sushi: An American Businessman and His Family Takes on 90's Japan (Hardcover)
Mark Meers goes to Japan to work and live for a few years. His insight is interesting but it is hard to define what his book is. Is it about business? Kind of, but from a very limited point of view, his. Is it history? Well, not really, because he isn't trying to define Japanese culture or society or history. Is it a first person account of Japanese culture? Sure, if you want to know something of Japan in the 90s. It is a beast of many subjects, issues and themes. I enjoyed it but I didn't really get any insight that was new to me.
