1950s Teen Melodrama on LSD,

Before Entourage, Adrian Grenier was a young indie actor trying to do interesting films. Bringing Rain Is the most out there thing he ever did and also his best work. The movie is bizarre and low budget, but also very moving and has a great sense of style. It reminded me of a teen movie from the 50s, but on LSD.

What if 90210 had been made by Gus Van Sant?
Bringing Rain answers that question. I rented this movie after seeing The Missing Person and Neal Cassady, by Noah Buschel. I was wondering what his first film was. Although it is plagued by a low budget the movie is exceptional in terms of it's mood and originality. The cast is great. A rough and raw movie that obviously could have used more money but is great for what it is: A small indie about the pain of growing up. |
