This review is from: Brings the Heat 1 (Audio CD)
Although I am a huge fan of the Wendy Williams Radio Show, I am not big on most the Music played on the show (Hip-Hop). I am almost 50 Years Old and the only Music in my collection is 60's & 70's R&B (Earth, Wind & Fire, Isley Bros, Ohio Players, Parliament-Funkadelic, etc) and Jazz (from Wes Montgomery to Jeff Lorber, George Benson, Stanley Clark, etc)...However, when I hear the Song "Stand Up" done by Mario Wynans with Wendy doing spoken word I loved it, and I must admit I was surprised when I bought the CD that the entire CD was great...I guess that if Wendy were to give up her day Job she could get into the Music Industry as a talent Scout becuase she certainly knew how to pick-em for this CD...making it the only Hip-Hop oriented CD in my entirte collection.

Best Compilation Album In Years!,
This review is from: Brings the Heat 1 (Audio CD)
I've been listening to music forever and have been reviewing music for about 5 years now. In my experience, most of the time soundtracks and compilation albums suck. They usually have one or two hot songs and the rest of the songs are bad or by people you may never hear from again.
"Wendy's Got The Heat Vol. 1" is the exception. I support Wendy as an author and the Queen of all Media but I admit I was a bit skeptical when I learned she was releasing a compilation album. I was pleasantly surprised when I put the CD in my CD player. From start to finish the album is solid and there wasn't one song that made me want to "skip."The album opens up with the song "Man Up!" by Amerie featuring Nas. It's followed by a really nice song named "Everytime" which was recorded by Jaheim and Jadakiss. The ladies represent on this compilation well. I enjoyed tracks by newcomer Deemi and Brooke Valentine. I also enjoyed the snong "Baby Mama Love" by N2U and Guerilla Black's "Say What" is hot. |
