I purchased 2 sets (8 lights total). Currently only 6 work. Originally only 5 lit up (after a couple days of the sun charging them) until I aggressively shook the 6th one and now that one works. The remaining two are duds. You must be gentle when placing into the ground because the plastic stand breaks easily. Although they look very nice, I am very disappointed that two do not work.

As with most solar lamps, these are not designed to illuminate your walk way. They do provide some light but buyers must realize that these are mainly for decorative use. They are beautiful to look at both at night and during the day. Know what to expect before you buy these things. You could spend alot of money on the metal ones and they won't be any brighter than these. My friend has the $80 a piece metal set and his do not do any better than mine.

People, don't be turned off by any negative reviews on these lights. What everyone else failed to consider is that the batteries in the lights have been sitting in storage and of course they're not going to work right away. People who said their lights were defective probably just had old batteries in them. What I did was buy a battery charger - yes, it says you can't use on solar lights - but I did, and my lights are all working 100% and look great. In fact, I wanted amber colored, not white lights, so I took some yellow film paper and taped it over the light and voila! amber lights! For Christmas, I put half green paper and half red paper and my yard looked awesome. I used this stuff called U-Glue from Walgreen's that is sticky paper and all I had to do was pop open the battery cover and put in a newly charged battery every time one wore out. It took seconds and my lights have stayed lit every night. I get so many compliments on these lights. I've had other solar lights in the past, but these are by far the best landscape lights I've owned. Invest a little in a battery charger and you won't be sorry. There's no sunlight in the winter, but I've had beautifully lit lights every night. Get these lights and you won't be disappointed. I'm going to make them red for Valentine's Day, green for St. Patrick's Day, etc, etc. and amber colored every other day of the year. They are great!

I bought a set two years ago. For the same price it also included four shepherd's hooks. My flower bed looked nice with two low lights in front and two tall ones in back. Everything was fine, but after two years the NE weather has taken its toll on the appearance. I was going to replace them, but if they are as Obama-esque as everyone says, I'll find something else.

I should have listened to the other reviews. These things are pure junk. Thin plastic and two of the 4 lights did not even work. Way to go Brinkmann. Chinese garbage!!!

I've had these lights for a week so far and really like them. They are my first set of solar lights and I've just ordered another set of 4. They have a nice mission-style look, and a mellow orangish glow. While I usually do a lot of research before I buy, I didn't see many reviews for this product and was a bit hesitant. However, after a week I'm convinced that these were the best lights for the price and, I'm still convinced having bought the second set.

I purchased 8 of these and by the 3rd day all eight wouldn't light up anymore. They look nice during the day and great at night (when they worked). They do not light up much, they are just accent lighting. Just enough so you know they are there at night. Maybe I just purchased 2 bad boxes but the other reviews I've read on these at target all had simular expereiences as I did...

I do really like the designs of this item, however the quality of this products is horrible and it doesn't light up bright at all. I do hope Target is giving us better quality product.
