I love this smoker. I did have experience with a genuine Cookin Cajin from the company Brinkman purchased. It was a little more heavy-duty, but as far as results go, the Brinkmann is every bit as good. Assembly proved to be slightly annoying. The screws and nuts were tiny and difficult to thread and the main cylinder was slightly out of round. Once assembled, however, the performance is excellent. I've used it a dozen times already, with very tastey results.

I got this smoker as a gift about a year ago. It was easy to assemble and I was able to start smoking some food in no time. Right out of the box you can make some quality bbq. If you are the handy type you can do a search and find some inexpensive modifications that will enhance the quality of the bbq product that you pull out of this thing. I would definitely get this as a first smoker to learn the craft of smoking meats.

This is my second purchase of this smoker and I highly recommend it.

With proper care this product will last for years.

Smoker meets my needs and especially like that you can lift the smoker from the base to add more charcoal. The shipping was not good as the smoker came dented (bought one for sister and it too arrived dented). Brinkman service finally did replace both but they will not talk to you when you call - they call you back - 2+ weeks later!
