Perfect height for the bed.

The only disappointing thing is that the steps are made of corrugated cardboard, albeit with a nice cover.

Thesteps are light weight and easy to move around.

We bought this for our aging 16 lb kitty who's having trouble with arthritis in his back and hindquarters. He couldn't get up on our bed any more and it was heartbreaking to watch him try. The steps are shallow, which gives it a small footprint in our bedroom and makes it manageable for an animal that can't bend/extend his back legs very well. Other steps, when high enough to reach the top of our bed, stuck out too far into the room. They also had the potential of being tall and deep enough to stop our cat getting from step to step. The high density foam has kept its shape and it doesn't hurt when we bump against it in the dark.

The thing to know is that your animal may need to be taught to use it, so if there's a spot they usually use to jump up, put it there, first. Then help your pet up the first few times. It took a couple days, but now Teddy is up and down, up and down, up and down--just like when he was a kitten. He loves the independence and it gives him exercise the vet says is good for arthritis. It might seem a little pricey, but it's certainly been worth it for us.

It was hard to tell from the product promo photo how it would look, so I took a chance. It does do what it advertises and provide useful steps. However, in the end I returned it because it was baggy low end material covering a stack of cardboard steps, and I decided I wanted a more eye-pleasing solution. I freely admit I am picky, so consider that when reading this review. If it is not too difficult, I will post a few photos I took before I returned it. I will say I was impressed at the speed of my credit back from Amazon.

The framework is made of cardboard. For an item to be made of cardboard, the price is mismatched. This item is suited for a dollar store. Thank you for reading my review.

These steps are much narrower and steeper than they appear in the picture. I purchased these for my Maltese-Shitzu (10 lbs) dog to get up onto my bed. The steps are so steep it was almost like she was trying to climb a ladder. She could not physically use them.

I could see a cat using these steps, but they don't work for small dogs.

Flimsy. Made of cardboard. Stairs are too narrow. My Yorkie was not comfortable on it. I returned it with no problem.

When we got a new, higher bed, I knew our little dogs wouldn't be able to jump up (or down) very easily. After reviewing all of the options, I decided on this one. It is lightweight, solidly constructed with layers of corrugated cardboard, and not unattractive. The cover can be removed and washed (which I haven't tried yet). All in all, it's perfect and doesn't fall over when the dogs run up and down (we have an 8 lb. chi and a 12 lb. minpin). When it arrived, I pulled it straight out of the box and put it next to the bed - no construction needed, screws or staples (which appeared to be a problem with other models). Perfect!

SIX MONTHS LATER --

When I took off the cover to wash it, I was pleased to see the inside is constructed of HEXACOMB(Google it)a manufactured honeycombed cardboard, stacked like an accordion - which adds to its strength. I'm amazed at how strong and yet lightweight it is. Engineering-wise, this stuff is amazing! After six months of constant use by our two small dogs, as well as our 20-year old daughter running up them once (not recommended), they still haven't sagged. We live in a dry climate, so I suppose if someone lived in a damp house, they might wear out faster.

I agree with the suggestion that some folks might have set their stairs up sideways so the stairs seemed too steep. The handle should be on the back of the top step. The handle is also handy for lifting the steps easily to move them. I placed an inexpensive rug underneath the steps to keep them from sliding on our smooth tile floor, but if you have carpeting you should be all right.

I took a photo of the stacked HEXACOMB cardboard inside if anyone is curious, which should show up soon in the images section. I hope this helps.

I think I will buy the milk crate 6 pack from Wal-Mart.com (for local pick-up) and have a sturdy 3 stair solution at 30 inches high for $20.28 and tie them all together with shoe laces or wire...

After looking at numerous types of pet stairs we decided on these ones because they were fairly cheap, high enough to reach our bed or at least higher than most other stairs available. These do seem like they are made of low quality materials but they hold up to a good amount of weight. Our chihuahua only weighs 6lbs but my fiance and I have both stepped on these without problems. So I can vouch for them holding at least 130-140lbs.
