I ordered two safes. They arrived in damaged boxes. The safes inside were severely dented/scratched. One of the metal support legs broke off. The door to the safe comes off the hinge if you flip the safe upside-down. I was able to return both safes through amazon with no hastle.

Great product, Amazon had great price - even considering shipping. Key AND keypad must be used to open, but I just leave the key in it (didn't want to search for key each time) and it works just like a electronic keypad-only safe.
Also has a special key to open it without keypad. The first safe shipped to me had bent and dented "feet". I contacted Amazon and they immediately sent out another and instructions to return mine. The second safe was even more badly dented and I returned it instead and kept the first. It works and looks fine where I have it. I was impressed with Amazon's responsiveness and customer service.

This is a very nice inexpensive safe with some nice features for the price. It can be found cheap if you search around.
Its perfect for personal items and home business type paper work, computer backup and offering protection from regular people, kids and average theives. Its not for protecting the Crown Jewels or thousands and thousand of dollars of cash or jewelry but if you have that kind of money your probably not looking at this small safe anyways. For any real protection it MUST be secured to the floor otherwise a thief can just pick it up and carry it away to take their time and work on it at their place. I am not a safe cracker or criminal but it looks like, and this is only a GUESS, that if someone had time and privacy it could be forced open or might open if dropped from real high. Thats why mounting it to the floor with the included hardware is critical in my opinion. The only downside I found is that the interior is much smaller than it looks from the outside. The door and interior is about 3" thick taking away from how large it looks from the outside. I know this is needed or it would not be a safe or fireproof but it caught me by surprise. |
