5.0 out of 5 stars Know what you are purchasing
My 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter love this toy but I would caution any purchaser to know what the product is so that you are not disappointed.

This line is compatible with the Brio Thomas the Tank engine trains. So, though it is small, it is to scale with similar items. Yes, it is pricey, but it is consistent with the price of the Thomas line.

I think this...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bob the Builder toy set
I think this 'little' set is extremely overpriced for the size of the toy. The picture is deceiving. It is more in line with a stocking stuffer rather than a main gift as I had intended. I will most likely return the item.

I think this is a great educational toy. I prefer open ended, non-battery toys for my children so they use their imaginations. It has no bells and whistles but it allows for their creative free play. They have a huge Thomas set so they were not at all disappointed by size. They were thrilled to have Bob around to fix Thomas and his pals.

Bottom line..this is a great addition to a Thomas type set if you have a Bob fan in the family. But if this is your first piece, you might be caught off guard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Bob the Builder, January 30, 2003

My son received this for Christmas when he was 3years old, He plays with it all the time. Its easy for him to attach the trains together because they are magnetic and they will go with any other train set you have. He plays with them and his Thomas train set together. He just turned 4 years old and still loves it.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Proper Perspective, December 12, 2001

Yes, this toy is very high-priced for the size. However, when compared to the other branded toys of similar size that are played on wooden tracks (i.e. Thomas the Tank Engine, et al, and the BRIO system), it is economically on par. While the vehicles can be played with their own, I think the entertainment value lies in creating and playing with the toys in a Bob the Builder town, along the lines of Thomas' Sodor Island. My almost-3-year-old loves all things Bob, as well as Thomas and the wooden trains. I think we'll be starting a collection of these as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to your train set and Bob the Builder set, May 15, 2004

My little boy just loves Muck and Scoop so when I saw these sets, I just had to get them for his train set. He really loves putting Bob in the back of Muck's bed and pushing him around the train track. He also attaches Muck to one of his battery-operated locomotives and Muck gets a "ride" all around the track. I'm glad that they're making these pieces for the wooden train series - it's just a lot of fun constructing the towns and having these pieces to go along with them. What an imagination builder! All the train pieces are pretty pricey but worth it since they're made by Brio. We have a bunch of Brio's products and are very pleased with all of them and this set is no different. Sure hope Bob doesn't get dizzy going around and around, and around....

5.0 out of 5 stars Compatible with Brio or Thomas Wooden Railways, January 14, 2004

Do ignore the negative reviews related to the size of the toy -- this is compatible with the wooden railway system, and is sized appropriately. Of the series, Muck is the least durable, since his front scoop comes off with very little tugging, snaps back on easily as well, but one more small part to lose.

very cute, especially with the scenery from the race set and set up with some railway pieces as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bob Toys, November 2, 2003

I am a nanny to a wonderful little boy who absolutely loves Muck and all of the other Bob the Builder Brio toys that he recieved on his birthday. He plays with them constantly, and they have been great instigators of imaginative play. I do not believe that the value of a toy should have anything to do with its size, as some other reviewers may have suggested. This toy is durable and is very good quality. I believe that most of its value is in the type of play that it promotes.

When I opened the package to give to my grandson, I was suprised and VERY disappointed. For the money I spent, I expected a LOT more.

This thing looks like a $0.50 toy you would get from a gum-ball machine. It's a 2-inch man and a three-inch long plastic truck. I had to rush out Christmas morning to get something else. If I had given him this along with a book I purchased, he would have been extremely dissapointed and I would have been extremely embarrassed.

DON'T buy this unless you are very familiar with the Bob-the-Builder rip-offs and still want to throw away $15.00.

I cannot believe this product is worth ($...).
Fisher-Price offers a much better value. For all the
"hipe" about Bob the Builder I expected something interesting.
My four year old son took one look at this and put it in his
toy box and it hasn't been seen since.
