5.0 out of 5 stars Great, but works best with Brio (not Thomas) train engines, July 29, 2003

We recently bought our 3-year-old twins a Brio starter set (which came with a Brio train) and several Thomas trains to use with it. We also bought a Magnetic Farm Tunnel to add a little excitement to the set. This tunnel is a lot of fun! My kids absolutely love seeing the animals' heads pop out as a train goes through the tunnel. The only problem is that the tunnel works best with Brio trains, which have metal in their wheels to trigger the magnets (thus making the animals pop out). The Thomas trains don't have the metal wheels, so when they pass through the tunnel, the animals don't move much. I highly recommend this tunnel, but also recommend that you have a Brio train or two on hand to use with it.

This is one of the best accessories I've purchased so far. My 18 month old loves it. He's really into all the tunnels and bridges on his train set. When the trains go in a tunnel he puts his hands out and in his toddler babble says "where did it go?' What a great extention to peek-a-boo! I have a mix of Thomas stuff and Brio - thankfully they are compatible. But this farm tunnel is the best. He loves to wach the heads pop out when a train goes through and tries to name each animal. I highly suggest buying this tunnel because it's so interactive. Also, it's quite durable - on par with Thomas. Some Brio accessories are on the chintzy side but not this one!

Boy, was this one of the best purchases of the year! This is the cutest thing - seeing the animal heads pop out of the barn when the trains roll through is just so neat. My son loves this part of his train and it really sparks a lot of imaginative play. Very neat idea! It's also VERY durable.

The BRIO Farm Tunnel comes up to my expectations and was an excellant choice for my 21 month old grand son. It is an excellant way to start his BRIO train set.
