Nothing is more important than a firm foundation This 15-square-inch, 1.75-inch-high blue plastic base is designed to be used with the BRIO Builder System kits. The 12-by-12-inch grid of quarter-inch peg holes will accommodate all the standard BRIO bolts and pegs (not included with the base plate) to attach buildings, space stations, cranes, and other creations. Side holes (three per side) offer other possibilities, such as joining several base plates to create a large platform. --Richard Farr

If you already have some Brio Builder pieces, this base plate is a great addition. For younger children, the plate is a perfect base for hammering nails into. For older children, it is a large, sturdy foundation for all sorts of Brio Builder creations.

This base plate is hard to find (we bought ours from eBay), so I would recommend buying one while you can. I don't have any affiliation with Brio or with this Amazon seller; I'm just a mom who loves Brio Builder for my kids.
