3.0 out of 5 stars An introduction to a fascinating part of the world..., November 3, 2009
By
This review is from: Brisbane and the Gold Coast (Paperback)
I recently spent 2 weeks in Brisbane, as well as further north (to Lady Elliot Island). This booklet is a good introduction to the area. Brisbane, a very large city, obviously has a lot to offer, and you can't see it all in 2 weeks. I have to emphasize the ease of transport with the ferries through the city, as well as the pedestrian-friendly nature of the city around the river. I rented a bicycle for two days, and the wide paths and special bike lanes were appreciated.

Like with all guide books, my interests and the interests of the authors overlap in some areas and not in others. A lot of what I did and where I ate is not featured in this guide. However, I still appreciated it as an introduction to the area.

Oh, and when you visit the South Bank, check out the big trees near the ferris wheel for flying foxes!
