An electronic indicator on the Brita Grand reminds you to change the filter.
Brita Grand Water Filter Pitcher, Orange

Enjoy healthier*, great-tasting water with the Brita Grand Water Filter Pitcher. The Brita Grand comes with a filter that reduces undesirable tastes and odors found in tap water. The electronic indicator reminds you when it's time to change the filter. With a large 10-cup capacity, the Brita Grand provides a convenient and cost-effective alternative to buying bottled water.

Filter Provides Great-Tasting Water

The Brita Grand Water Filter Pitcher comes with one activated carbon and ion-exchange resin filter that reduces chlorine taste and odor, zinc taste, copper, mercury, and cadmium* often found in tap water. One Brita Water Filter can replace up to 300 standard 16.9-ounce water bottles, saving you money and cutting down on waste.

Electronic Indicator Tells You When to Replace Filter

An electronic indicator on the Brita Grand reminds you to change the filter, ensuring your drinking water is at its most refreshing. The indicator has a simple light system: a blinking green light indicates that the filter is good, a blinking yellow light reminds the user that the filter needs to be changed soon, and a red light blinks after 2 months** or 640 pours*** to show that it is time to replace the filter.

Easy to Use

This water filter pitcher has a soft grip handle for comfort and a flip-top lid that makes it easy to refill. With a sleek, space-efficient shape, the Brita Grand can be stored on your countertop for room temperature water or in your refrigerator for a colder drink. *Certified to reduce Copper & Mercury. Contaminants reduced may not be in all users’ water. **Filter should be replaced after 40 gallons/151 liters (about 2 months for the average family). ***Based on 8 oz. pours; indicator logic does not account for product misuse.

People, please! Do Brita filters say they remove fluoride? NO! Do Brita filters say they remove nitrates? NO! Do the directions tell you to wait till the top reservoir is empty before pouring? YES!

Seriously, seeing so many bad ratings, I was hesitant to buy a Brita pitcher after years of not needing one. But when I accidentally ran into a special and got 5 filters for a ridiculously low price and $5 off a pitcher, I decided to do it. NO REGRETS!

This pitcher is giving great service just like my old one did for years and years, and just like my son's is doing in a household of roommates.

Brita's foremost claim is to make your water taste better and this it does admirably. Read the fine print on a filter box in any store to see exactly what it removes from water.

My lid stays on just fine, fits just the right amount of snug. I can pour one-handed (except when it's full then I need an extra hand because of the weight) and I even tried pouring with water still in the reservoir as an experiment and I had no leakage.[UPDATE: When I had some guests I did experience the puddle of water on the counter that some people mention and today when half asleep, pouring slowly, the cover over the spout did not open fully and caused some minor spillage. So the moral may be that you have to pour with confidence so that the water has enough force to open the spout fully.]

The lid has a quick-add flip-top in the lid which I find impossible to use (I'm old and weak and can't hold a heavy pitcher of water one-handed under a stream of water while simultaneously holding open the flip-top) but I don't care I just take off the lid like in the old days.

This pitcher looks nice and gives you 40+ gallons of clean drinkable water. Saves you at least $20. You need to replace the filter every 50 gallons. It has a digital meter that tells you when you need a new filter. This pitcher comes with a filter. The set up is easy, make sure you read the instructions which are labeled 1 2 3, that easy. Takes about a minute to fill up the pitcher. If you drink a lot of water you should get this pitcher because it will save you money. It's not too big and fits easily anywhere in your fridge.

I am very pleased with the brita pitcher that I purchased through Amazon.com The water always has a fresh clean taste that makes me want to drink water more often.
The only complain that I have about the brita pitcher is that the lid does not snap into place like I thought it would. I was disappointed that it did not fit more securely onto the brita pitcher, however it has not really created a problem so far.

I decided to replace my Brita pitcher when I moved --- the old one was looking, well old. I thought the new one would be great - same brita filtered water but in a new fun color. I wish I had kept the old pitcher that worked well. The lid for this pitcher is ill fitting and an ill conceived idea. The pour function has issues and the lid falls off quite easily. I don't believe it's a defective pitcher like some have indicated, I believe it's a poor, ill conceived updated design. Also teh digital display is very cheap.

I was stationed in Germany (Brita's International HQ) and have noticed the US gets the sub-par designs compared to what is in Europe. Funny, since all the US products I got there were the sub-par versions. Anyhow, I don't recommend this water pitcher. The filters are ridiculously expensive for carbon bits in plastic (they are about 6x the price of the superior Euro design). I had to duct tape the top to the pitcher-body to keep the top from coming off. It didn't fall off when pouring, but instead it always slid off when my thumb made contact with the lid (I dare you to hold this pitcher without any thumb-contact). In my opinion PUR makes a better designed pitcher that is closer to Euro Brita.

my roommate and I love this pitcher and we really like the fun color! It holds a lot of water and doesn't empty out too quickly.

This is the first I have used a Brita Pitcher. Our family had been drinking bottled water, and did not like the taste of tap water. I thought this would be a more economical way to get clean tasting water. It does seem to make the water taste better...BUT:

Carbon flakes are leaking into the water.
The lid does not securely snap on.
The filter indicator does not work.

So far, I am quite unhappy with the purchase. I am going to research how to avoid the carbon getting in the water, but this one may be going back.

Was hoping this would be a good purchase.

I think these are really overpriced. I would have bought and off brand, but I already had a huge pack of the (also overpriced) Brita filters.

The pitcher is a fun color, easy to clean (all the orange parts are removable) and has a large capacity of water. The filtered waster does always seem to be taste free too.

However, for the price I would expect more. The 'change filter' thing is a total gimmick and it just tells you to change after a certain amount of time has passed. These not reason to pay extra for this little display and I wouldn't have, but I really wanted the orange filter.
I also don't change the filters nearly as often as Brita recommends because they're so dang expensive. My water seems to stay tasting great despite not following these recommendations.

Also, the lid doesn't fit on the top all the great. I mean, it fits well enough, but its a bit lose and just sort of sits on the top of the pitcher. I've never actually had it fall off and probably never actually will, but after spending so much on a dang water pitcher, I guess I just want it to kind of clip in place or something and feel a little higher quality.

Also, unless you're extremely careful (and slow) about filling the picture with tap water (and maybe even if you are extremely careful) you're probably going to get some of the black charcoal pieces in your water from time to time. This may be true of all filters, but it's something to keep in mind. It doesn't bother me at all (it's really not much) but I could see how it could bother some.

Over all, I'm not too disappointed, but I'm not absolutely thrilled either. I should have bought something less expensive.
