I don't understand why they changed from the old model. This lid is dreadful. It pops off and never feels like it's firmly attached. You have to use two hands to pour a glass of water just to ensure water doesn't spill all over the floor. I'm not a fan.

I've had Britta filter pitchers before, and it seems the quality has gotten worse over the years. The lid on this pitcher doesn't stay on securely, so I've gone to pour a glass of water and had the entire lid fall off and spill all over the counter and floor. I'm now in the habit of pushing the lid down every time I want to pour from the pitcher. It's like a tic. Also, the small lid that covers the hole where one adds more water comes off when in the open position, meaning while you're refilling the reservoir, the little lid will either flop down and block the hole, causing water from the faucet to spill, or it will fall off backward into the sink. Lame.

I love having this compared to constantly drinking water bottles or tap water, but I'm not in love with it. If you're ever pouring water out too steeply, the lid and filter all falls out and water dumps everywhere because the lid doesn't snap on that well. Obviously you should know not to pour it too fast, but sometimes if you're in a hurry you forget and then you have a mess to clean up. Not a huge deal. i also don't like how slow the water filters through. That sounds so nit-picky, but if you don't get in the habit of filling it up after every couple uses, and you have to fill the whole thing up you have to do it in a few steps waiting for it to filter through and then put more water in. Again, not a huge deal and it serves its purpose - I just thought the quality would be a little better. Other than that - it's nice to have clean water, so who can complain??

I bought this for my Grandma for Christmas because she doesn't like all the chemicals and the horrid taste of the city tap water. My whole family did a blind taste test and every time could tell the difference with the Brita Pitcher! I think this is her most used gift!

I live in Southern California where we can see our water. I would NEVER consider drinking water out of the tap. I have been using Aquasana filters on my sinks and showers for years but each year they get more and more expensive. After the Aquasana mechanism on my sink tap broke I decided this year I would try Brita instead. Wow! I must say, the water in my pitcher tastes amazing! It tastes even better than the water I used to drink from the Aquasana tap filters.

I've decided that this will be a permanent decision. If I could put these on my shower, I would!

I like the water filter cuz it holds plenty of water. The only draw backs are the lid don't fit on snug tight enough that it doesn't fall off you just have to wait til it is done filtering all the water before pouring and the flap sticks once in awhile which makes the water spill if not paying attention to the flap to make sure it is opening. I use this to fill my coffee pot. My wife uses it to refill her water bottle. Also used to filter the water for my dogs drinking water.

This is my second Brita pitcher as I was replacing one I had had for many years. As other reviews stated the top will not stay on so you have to pour slowly. The electronic filter reader lasted about 5 minutes and hasn't worked since. Brita needs to go back to the original design and I would rather have the plastic cling "calendar" to keep track of when to replace the cartridge.

The pitcher is stylish and easy to fill, but it is relatively heavy when full of water. I haven't had a problem with the lid falling off while pouring and the filter meter light seems to work fine. The filter is easy to prepare and install and the Brita-filtered water tastes good. This was a great deal.

Great pitcher.
Only complaint is the the little tab that swings open in order to pour out water gets stuck sometimes and causes water to come out the sides and spill everywhere.
I've just gotten into the habit of checking it before pouring
