Drawing upon the latest historical and archeological evidence, Malcolm Todd outlines the new developments in law, agriculture, urbanization, coinage, manufacturing industry, and architecture which the Romans instigated in Britain. Malcolm Todd demonstrates that despite the powerful effects of the Anglo-Saxon settlement, the Roman legacy played a vital part in the development of medieval and modern Britain.
