We were involved in a highway accident. Something happened to the tire, I lost control of the car at 70 MPH, we did a 180 and slammed into the concrete barrier (on the rear side, where my kids were). I have three kids, my two daughters were on the side that got hit. My 22 month old daughter is in this carseat, and my 3-year-old in the older model boulevard. They walked away without a scratch. My almost two-year-old slept through the whole thing! She only woke up because my 3-year-old was crying (because she was scared, not hurt). My sister and I were in the front seat and we are okay, but very sore, whip lash, etc. I'm amazed that my children aren't even talking about the accident, and they aren't even the slightest bit sore, even though they were a lot closer to the place of impact! My husband and I don't have much money, but car seats were something that we weren't going to skimp on. Now I am so thankful that we did. We will definitely stick with Britax forever.

We have only had the seat for a week so I will update my review after a few months but I must say:

1. I LOVE the ease of installation on this seat. I have LATCH and installed Rear-Facing in my 2006 Acura TL, rear passenger side on the full recline setting (required for rear-facing mode) and it was perfect. No towel or pool noodle needed like our Recaro ProRide. Its perfectly level with the ground and at a perfect angle for my 11 month old to ride comfortably. The latch belts are attached to the metal bars on the sides of the seat so you just slide it to the front of the seat for RF position! No rerouting or removing covers or anything like that! How simple, I was literally amazed at how easy they designed this. It took me 3 times longer to read the whole manual (ALWAYS read the whole manual first) than it did to adjust the strap position and install it.

2. My daughter rarely fell asleep in the car anymore because she was so busy looking out the windows and talking to herself in her mirror but in this seat every ride so far, short or long, she has fallen asleep within the first 5 minutes! It must be that comfortable!

3. The fabric does not get hot at all! We live in FL and even though it's November, it is still 80-something degrees in the afternoon and I have a black car with black interior and this seat felt nice and cool even when the rest of the car was burning hot.

4. The velcro strap holders are AWESOME! They hold the straps off to the sides so no more fishing for the buckles under your wiggling baby while you're putting them in their seat!

5. The material in the picture online (in my opinion) makes it look like a smooth meshy almost wind-breakery material... It is NOT like that at all! It almost feels like denim! It is nice material, but its not a very soft material (probably why it breathes so well) like I thought it was. This isn't a flaw at all, I really like it but it just wasn't what I thought!! Also, its not quite white and grey as it looks in the pictures. Its like a lighter grey and a darker grey stripe. It's still really nice, but I think the picture makes it look girlier than it really is.

6. I did not have to move my passenger seat up AT ALL! This seat is pretty big from front to back. I have a mid-size to large sedan and I didn't have to touch the seat settings. My 6' tall boyfriend car still sit up front in the passenger seat and be completely comfortable as if there were no seat behind his at all!

I had a very large 6 month old who was about to outgrow her infant carrier so I needed a convertible car seat pretty early on. Did a lot of research and even bought a graco signature which was so big we couldn't get it comfortably in the back of my Honda CR-V. Britax got high ratings for safety so we got this one and I'm very happy with it. It is safe and comfortable and fits very well in the car (we have it placed in the center). Found it $100 cheaper on Amazon than the other stores. Might purchase another for our other car. We've only used it in rear facing position so far but it's been great. Easy to install and easy to get the baby in and out.

Great car seat. We bought it to transition our daughter from a backwards facing seat to a forwards facing seat. Currently we are still using it backwards because she hasn't reached the 20 lb limit to turn it around. It is fairly large and bulky. The seat is in a 4Runner and just barely fits backwards. There won't be a problem when we can turn it around. We are very happy with the purchase and feel it was a good decision.

We were originally looking at a Britax Roundabout 55 for our 6 month old daughter who had outgrown her Graco Snugrider 35. After looking at the difference in size and the reviews for both the Roundabout 55 and the Boulevard 70, we purchased the BB70 in order to get more years of use out of it--especially with how much our daughter already weighs at 6 months. Our biggest concern was whether this seat would fit rear-facing in the center of the back seat of an '04 BMW 3 Series. Turns out, it fits perfectly and doesn't interfere with the rear mirror view at all either (with us drivers being 5' 8" and 6' 1"). It's also pretty easy to load the little one into the seat because the sides aren't so high as to prevent ease of depositing her into the seat--which was a problem with the Snugrider as she got to the 20 lb. mark. Overall, we're very happy with this car seat and extremely pleased that it fits our smallish car and even allows for people to sit on either side as well since the base is smaller than that of the Snugrider as well. Also, installation took only took 7 minutes, which was a pleasant feature to discover (especially after having had a hard time trying to previously install a Safety 1st low-end seat in the rear-facing position). Perfect for our needs.

This is a very well built car seat. This car seat is meant to stay in the car. As far as safety, I give it 5 stars. It's a pain taking in and out of the car with the child in it. I have done it many times so I wouldn't wake up the baby. But now that I've done it so often, I've become very good at it. In any case, I would give it a 3 star when it comes to mobility. Nevertheless, I gave this product a 5 star because safety was my only/main concern. I have other means of moving the baby around (travel system).

We chose this car seat because it was recommended to us by the officer who does car seat installations for our local police department. He installed it for us; otherwise, I'm not sure if we would have been able to anchor it properly on our own.

We are overall very happy with the seat. The materials seem to be high quality, and our baby sits comfortably in it. I like knowing that she is in the best seat we can buy if we are in an accident and that we can get our money's worth out of the seat for a long time since it goes up to 70 lb. The onyx is a nice, simple color and looks nice in the car even with our beige interiors.

We don't find the click/safe feature particularly useful -- we thought you were supposed to pull until you heard the straps click, but there is still considerable slack when you do that. Maybe we need to brush up on the user guide to really understand the point of that feature.

Also, because of its size in the rear-facing position, there is some interference when we try to change the positions of the surrounding seats in our Honda Pilot. You may find it too cumbersome if you have a small car.

My daughter is loving the car seat!! Very comfortable and spacious! She has hip dysplasia and has been in multiple harnesses and braces, but we have not had an issue with her legs fitting in this seat!

There is one major flaw, and that is the difficulty of removing and reinstalling the cover. When your kid pees on the cover (or simply drops a cup full of whatever), you have to remove the seat from the car, completely disassemble it, and it took me 20 minutes to reassemble. Those straps were a major pain to reassemble and get put back together. God help you if you lost the manual describing the process as you'll NEED it.

Whomever designed this thing definitely did not have taking the cover off in mind; it's a nightmare, and really the only thing that mars an otherwise good seat.

I bought this car seat when my daughter was 10 months old in the Paisley print (which we LOVE!) We kept her rear facing until she was 16 months old. She could have stayed RF much longer, just was our preference. I definitely recommend this product.
It does take a little longer to buckle her in compared to the infant seat, but well worth the safe feeling.
The only con I can see is when you need to take the cover off to clean. It takes time, so don't take it off unless you have time to spare.
