Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat (Onyx)True Side Impact Protection for Advanced Security
Offering True Side Impact Protection, this seat delivers superior protection if you happen to face an unexpected side-impact accident. If such an event takes place, the solid head support and deep side walls work efficiently to distribute crash forces, shield the child from vehicle intrusion, contain the head and body, and keep the head, neck and spine aligned to limit injury.

Superior 360-Degree Protection to Minimize the Risk of Injury
In addition to True Side Impact Protection, the Boulevard offers a range of superior crash force management features to keep your child properly positioned and protected. First, the patented, energy-absorbing Versa-Tether has staged-release tether webbing, anchoring the top of the seat at two points to minimize forward movement. For growing babies, the easy-adjust, tangle-free five-point harness offers infinite harness height adjustments for a snug, custom fit.

For additional protection, the Harness Ultra Guard System (HUGS) reduces forward head movement, while both the EPS foam liner and base are designed to absorb energy and distribute forces in the event of an unexpected impact.

Superior Fit and Comfort Features
Whether children are watching the world go by or snuggling in for a nap, they'll enjoy that the Boulevard reclines in both the forward and rear position. With additional features which include high-density comfort foam for extra padding, a plush cover set with a matching belly pad for comfort, and an infant body pillow for a custom fit, they'll always ride in style and comfort.

Superior Ease-of-Use for Safety and Convenience
Packed with perks for parents, the Boulevard includes an easy-turn knob that adjusts the headrest and harness height without requiring you to uninstall the seat, and a front harness adjuster allows for easy loosening of the harness. Premium push-button lower LATCH connectors offer a quick, simple, and tight installation, while built-in lock-offs secure the vehicle seat belt so that the car seat does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

The Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat is available in the following patterns: Onyx, Barrington, Huntington, and Shannon.

The Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

We bought this seat for our 10 month old who just didn't like her infant seat anymore and was getting too tall. She loves this seat! We've had it for a little over 2 months now. She is rear facing.

I was a bit worried about the "wings" of this seat, but she doesn't mind them at all and I feel better that she has them.

The seat is VERY large especially in the rearfacing position, you can't see the baby while you are in the front seat unless you have a mirror installed in the middle of the back seat and the baby is on one side.

This seat is constructed very well. The straps don't get twisted ever. And she is very comfortable. Because the seat sets up so high, she can see over the back of the seat in our 05 Pathfinder.

Would recommend to anyone.

I am very pleased with the Britax Boulevard. My girls are not allowed to ride in any thing else. I feel safe every time I go somewhere with them. They are well made and they aren't that difficult to install. I went to a Safe Kids Coalition where you make an appointment and they show you how to install your car seat - way easier then reading the manual and you know it is done right. I learned a lot about my car seat and the mistakes a lot of parents make. Here is a link to find one in your area [...]

Seat works great. Especially like the "quick release" LATCH connectors. Our last seat just had the clips and it would take 10-15 minutes per clip to get them disconnected when we needed to move the seat. These its just the push of a button just like a seat belt to get the connector loose (they are always out of reach of the child as well). The shoulder height adjustment is good too. You just twist a knob to slide the shoulder straps and side impact protection up and down to fit your kid. The latch to loosen the straps is much better than our last seat as well. Although, I saw a better designed one when we were looking that had a side mounted knob to loosen or tighten the straps. The design on this seat is more of the conventional type with a pull strap in between the kids legs and a loosening latch just below the seat covers, but its operation is far better than average for the seats we tried out. The only things that are kind of a bother are the weight of the seat and the lack of a good level indicator. It's by far not the heaviest seat we saw, but it is still a bit heavy to move from vehicle to vehicle. Also, the seat's only leveling indicator is a line on the side of the seat you are somehow supposed to step back and make sure it is parallel to the ground. Our last seat had an actual level riveted to the side of the seat frame that was much easier and "dummy proof" on leveling the seat. For something that all the manuals and experts stress as so important, you'd think they could put a better device on it.

This seat lasted from when my son was 6 months to his 4th birthday when he graduated to the next size and his younger brother needed the space for his seat. My sons were both large and outgrew the 22 lb seats at 6 months. For the second I bought a larger weight range on his infant seat, but for my first son I bought this one. As a seat for a 6 month old the cons are that it is not removable like a carrier (which just encourages you to carry your babe which is great) and it was difficult to fit rear facing in my Toyota Camry. It had to go in the middle (which is fine) and the driver's seat had to be pushed forward more than I like. It may be fine for a shorter person (I am 5'10") because the seat would already be forward, or for a different type of car. However when forward facing it fits great. My son loved it and didnt' want to give it up at 4 years. I sewed the removable part to the seat because it was always falling out. I thought that the price on this seat was much higher than many others, but it is an excellent seat and at the time I had the money and have no regrets.

I am totally sold and only buy Britax from now on. They are so solid and the safety ratings great. My son was comfortable in this for two years and i have just passed it along to my daughter, who is tiny at 10 months but looks so sturdy and comfortable in it as well. The fabric has held up to two years of snacks and toddler mess. All i did was vaccuum it and it still looks good as new. The rear facing installation is a bit awkward but once it's in its rock solid! not a seat for moving from car to car i think. I just bought the Frontier 85 for my three year old, just as comfy and solid. We've had many safe roadtrips with a sleeping toddler out of this seat !

I too had been looking around for the next step up in car seats for a while, doing lots of research, but still undecisive. I know all Britax seats have great reviews, so I knew that was the brand I wanted. I decided on the Boulevard and am very pleased with my choice. While I don't have the experience to compare the different Britax ones, I can tell you, you won't be disappointed in this one. We have a Dodge Nitro and it fits great in the back, although I can see it being a tight squeeze in a smaller vechicle. Our little guy loves it!

This carseat is great, but it doesn't sit well in our car (Ford Escape). My son is 8 months old so we still have to have it rear facing. Our seat is at such an angle that he was pretty much sitting straight up and down, so that it left little room to squeeze him into the seat without contorting him and whenever he fell asleep his chin would be nearly touching his knees. :( I had to put a rolled up towel under the front of it to get it to a more comfortable angle for him.
