BRITAX 360 Degree Protection
The BRITAX BOULEVARD 70 features technologies that work to minimize injury to your child during a crash from any direction, including both frontal and side impact crashes - the most frequent types of crashes. These technologies work together with other features on the car seat to minimize injury to your child during a crash by:

  • keeping your child in the vehicle,
  • diverting crash forces away from your child,
  • helping to slow down your child's body,
  • minimizing movement of your child, and
  • protecting your child's brain and spinal cord.
SafeCell Technology for Advanced Head Safety
Designed with SafeCell Technology, the BOULEVARD 70 features SafeCells, which are engineered structures located in the base of the seat designed to compress in the event of a crash. This compression significantly lowers the center of gravity and counteracts the forward rotation of the car seat, delivering unprecedented performance in a crash.

The BOULEVARD 70 also features integrated steel bars, which strengthen the connection to the vehicle and reduce the forward flexing of the car seat. In addition, the energy-absorbing Versa-Tether anchors the top of the car seat and minimizes forward rotation of the car seat to reduce the crash forces that can reach your child if an accident occurs. These three features work together as a system to provide revolutionary head safety protection for your child.

True Side Impact Protection for Advanced Security
Offering True Side Impact Protection, the BOULEVARD 70 delivers advanced protection if you happen to face an unexpected side-impact crash. True Side Impact Protection is a system composed of a rigid seat shell with deep side walls, an adjustable head restraint, and an extra layer of energy-absorbing EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) foam lining the head restraint. These combined features work together to protect your child's head and chest from incoming side-impact crash forces by distributing the forces over a larger surface area, helping shield your child from vehicle intrusion, contain your child's head and body in the seat, and minimize side-to-side movement of your child's head.

Premium Fit and Comfort Features
Whether children are watching the world go by or snuggling in for a nap, they'll enjoy that the BOULEVARD 70 reclines in both the forward and rear positions. And thanks to additional features, which include high-density comfort foam and a plush cover set with matching belly pad, they'll always ride in style and comfort. A 70-pound weight capacity, two buckle positions, and a tangle-free five-point harness with ten harness height settings provide a snug, custom fit for your growing child. Plus, an optional Infant Positioning Insert (sold separately) allows you to properly and securely fit smaller infants into the car seat.

Ease-of-Use for Safety and Convenience
Packed with perks for parents, the BOULEVARD 70 makes it easy to secure your child in the proper position without guesswork. Premium lower LATCH connectors make for a quick, simple, and tight installation, while the push-button allows you to easily uninstall the connectors. Easy-to-access built-in lock-offs allow you to install the car seat with ease using your vehicle's lap and shoulder belt. The quick-adjust harness system and buckle allow you to reposition the harness height without disassembling the harness straps.

Additionally, an anti-slip contoured base grips and protects the vehicle seat, ensuring a tight installation in all types of vehicles. Convenient holders keep harness straps out of the way when you're placing your child in the seat, and the plush cover set with matching pads removes easily for cleaning without requiring you to disassemble or uninstall the car seat.

The BRITAX BOULEVARD 70 Convertible Car Seat is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

It seems very safe, is easy to install, isn't too hard to clean, and seems pretty comfortable for our son during daily commutes, and long road trips, alike.

I have two different car seats - one for each car - and I'm comparing the Britax Boulevard 70 with the Evenflo Momentum, and I like the Momentum much better. Of course ALL car seats (not just the pricey ones) meet stringent safety requirements and undergo the same government testing, so reviews that suggest some are safer than others are basically just guessing.

What I like about the Britax:
- nice looking fabric
- steel frame
- relatively slim size
- easy to adjust height of straps (but not as easy as the Momentum)
- easy front facing belt or latch installation (but latch system on Momentum is much better)

What I don't like about the Britax:
-straps tangle easily
-not a very cushy seat/padding
-difficult to install rear facing
-cover slides off the top and has to be pulled back on every so often
These are small flaws. It's a great seat. BUT - these flaws make the extra cost seem like too much - a seat this expensive should not have these problems, in my opinion.

What I like better about the Momentum:
-very cushy seat - lots of side padding. My son loves it.
-easy straps, they don't tangle or get stuck in the fabric
-easy to adjust height of shoulder straps
-ratcheting system on latch - no threading the strap through - it took me about 10 seconds to get this seat out of my car and into grandma's
-super soft fabric cover that is a cinch to remove if washing becomes necessary
-good recline in rear facing mode (easy to get it level)

Problem with the Momentum:
-this thing is huge (side to side especially).

I had a very large 6 month old who was about to outgrow her infant carrier so I needed a convertible car seat pretty early on. Did a lot of research and even bought a graco signature which was so big we couldn't get it comfortably in the back of my Honda CR-V. Britax got high ratings for safety so we got this one and I'm very happy with it. It is safe and comfortable and fits very well in the car (we have it placed in the center). Found it $100 cheaper on Amazon than the other stores. Might purchase another for our other car. We've only used it in rear facing position so far but it's been great. Easy to install and easy to get the baby in and out.

Okay so I will start off by saying I have a small 2 door Honda Accord Coupe and buying a convertible car seat was one of the hardest things I had to do. I purchased the Combi Coccoro Convertible Best Car Seat (Chestnut) because it specified the compactness of it. I REGRET WASTING MY TIME WITH THAT PURCHASE! DO NOT BOTHER! If you are in the same situation as me please go ahead and shell out the money and get a Britax, the difference in quality is amazing.

The Combi started cracking (the Styrofoam inside) with the tiniest bit of force, like leaning on it SLIGHTLY or my daughter pushing it. I kept eyeing the Britax car seats but they looked so big so I stayed away. A couple of weeks ago we got home late at night and did not notice milk spilling on the car seat due to the color and how dark it was, so after a couple of days in the garage the car seat literally rotted and we had to dump it after many attempts to wash and fix it. Ended up the milk seeped through the Styrofoam and the smell just would not disappear. We got a Safety 1st All-in-One Convertible Car Seat, Scribbles as a quick replacement but my daughter was just not comfortable, it was as though we completely downgraded drastically.

I finally decided to just go for it and get a Britax because I just always deep down wanted one, so I got the boulevard 70 on sale and WOW the difference is AMAZING.

Her posture on the seat was the biggest difference, we didn't know better and thought that the posture on the previous seats were okay but wow I feel so guilty about her discomfort unbeknownst to me all this time!

This is our second Britax, our first was the Roundabout and we loved it. We moved up to the Boulevard because our daughter was about to outgrow the Roundabout, and the new one has been disappointing. I strongly dislike the "true side impact" head support. If I adjust it so the straps are high enough (just above her shoulders, forward facing) the head support frame is somewhat above her head and doesn't seem like it would do much good. It also sits well above the top of the main carseat and barely seems attached. Also I can't stand the material; it's velure and my daughter's hair sticks to it like crazy. Seems like a silly thing to care about until I have to put her hair back together after every single car ride. Besides the "true side impact" feature I also don't like the rubber pieces around the straps. They make the straps very bulky, hard to manage, and tough to get on/off my child. The things I like about the seat are the same things I liked about our Roundabout. In general it seems high quality and solidly built. The straps are easy to use (except for the rubber portion) and simple to tighten/loosen quickly. My husband did the installation and said it was very simple and had some features the old one didn't, like recline options, that were helpful. Overall I would give Britax another try but probably wouldn't get the Boulevard again.
