BRITAX 360 Degree Protection
The BRITAX BOULEVARD 70 CS features technologies that work to minimize injury to your child during a crash from any direction, including both frontal and side impact crashes - the most frequent types of crashes. These technologies work together with other features on the car seat to minimize injury to your child during a crash by:

  • keeping your child in the vehicle,
  • diverting crash forces away from your child,
  • helping to slow down your child's body,
  • minimizing movement of your child, and
  • protecting your child's brain and spinal cord.
SafeCell Technology for Advanced Head Safety
Designed with SafeCell Technology, the BOULEVARD 70 CS features SafeCells, which are engineered structures located in the base of the seat designed to compress in the event of a crash. The BOULEVARD 70 CS also features integrated steel bars, which strengthen the connection to the vehicle and reduce the forward flexing of the car seat. In addition, the energy-absorbing Versa-Tether anchors the top of the car seat and minimizes forward rotation of the car seat to reduce the crash forces that can reach your child if an accident occurs. These three features work together as a system to provide revolutionary head safety protection for your child.

True Side Impact Protection for Advanced Security
Offering True Side Impact Protection, the BOULEVARD 70 CS delivers advanced protection if you happen to face an unexpected side-impact crash. True Side Impact Protection is a system composed of a rigid seat shell with deep side walls, an adjustable head restraint, and an extra layer of energy-absorbing EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) foam lining the head restraint. These combined features work together to protect your child's head and chest from incoming side-impact crash forces by distributing the forces over a larger surface area, helping shield your child from vehicle intrusion, contain your child's head and body in the seat, and minimize side-to-side movement of your child's head.

Click & Safe Technology for the Safest Fit
When it comes to children's safety in the car, it's vital that they are properly secured, because loose harness straps can leave them vulnerable to injury during a crash. The BOULEVARD 70 CS assists in the process of securing your child with the Click & Safe Snug Harness Indicator feature, which provides an audible sound when you are tightening the harness to indicate when it is in the range of appropriate snugness.

Premium Fit and Comfort Features
Whether children are watching the world go by or snuggling in for a nap, they'll enjoy that the BOULEVARD 70 CS reclines in both the forward and rear positions. And thanks to additional features, which include high-density comfort foam and a plush cover set with matching belly pad, they'll always ride in style and comfort. A 70-pound weight capacity, two buckle positions, and a tangle-free five-point harness with ten harness-height settings provide a snug, custom fit for your growing child. Plus, an optional Infant Positioning Insert (sold separately) allows you to properly and securely fit smaller infants into the car seat.

Ease-of-Use for Safety and Convenience
Packed with perks for parents, the BOULEVARD 70 CS makes it easy to secure your child in the proper position without the guesswork. Premium lower LATCH connectors make for a quick, simple, and tight installation, while the push-button allows you to easily uninstall the connectors. Easy-to-access built-in lock-offs allow you to install the car seat with ease using your vehicle's lap and shoulder belt. The quick-adjust harness system and buckle allow you to reposition the harness-height without disassembling the harness straps.

Additionally, an anti-slip contoured base grips and protects the vehicle seat, ensuring a tight installation in all types of vehicles. Convenient holders keep harness straps out of the way when you're placing your child in the seat, and the plush cover set with matching pads removes easily for cleaning without requiring you to disassemble or uninstall the car seat.

The BRITAX BOULEVARD 70 CS Convertible Car Seat is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

My son was almost 1 year old and we had to upgrade the car seat. Didn't know much about the convertible ones I went to the store to see them in person.
Only Britax ones seemed to be sturdy and had enough cushion.

I went with Britax Boulevard 70 CS;
- it had more protection than Marathon (head and lower body cushions insert),
- it has clip and click option (it clicks when baby is strapped safe, no need to recheck with fingers between baby and straps), Marathon and regular Boulevard don't have this option,
- it doesn't have bulky wide additional support for head like Advocate CS.

Basically in the order from the simple model to the most advanced one it goes: Marathon, Boulevard, Boulevard CS and Advocate CS.

The Advocate has more protection, but I already have a safe car (Audi and than VW Tiguan) and didn't want to take additional space (the cars are not that huge inside). The car seat is placed behind the passenger seat and there is enough room to sit normal (not like with the infant car seat that is obviously longer).
Color Onyx matches nicely black interior.
Also considering the cost (Amazon had the best price I found) I think that was an excellent choice.

Convertible seats are not that easy to switch between cars and it was harder to install than our Chicco Key30, but now I have one car only so this is not a problem.

The seat is set in the medium recline, and it is comfortable for my son to sit and watch the road or to fall asleep.
He loved it from the day one; totally different experience to sit forward facing. It was a heart melting experience to see his happiness and surprise.

We transitioned our baby to this car seat at four months. He was a long baby, and the infant carrier seat was just never comfortable for him. He would cry and cry every time we got in the car. Once we switched to the Boulevard, he was SO much happier. I drive a tiny car (a Scion xA) and the seat fits comfortably behind the passenger seat. It's so simple to install, and although it's large, I can still easily see our baby via the mirror attached to the headrest.

We were hit the week before Christmas, and I'm happy to report that the baby was perfectly okay. I'm sure a lot of this is thanks to the sturdy, steel frame of the carseat, as well as the absorbing materials. I suffered whiplash and am still seeing a chiropractor for it (a month later).

Our baby is now almost 11 months, 22 pounds, and 31 inches and is still riding comfortably rear-facing.

Purchased this model (Britax Boulevard 70 CS) after considering the Britax Marathon 70, Britax Boulevard 70 (not CS), Radian, and the Recaro ProRide. Factors that influenced our decision to buy: price, user reviews ([...]) feedback from other moms I know, features, and ease of use. Coming from using a Chicco KeyFit30 infant car seat, I and other moms who have used Chicco infant seats say that we are spoiled because of the great hardware and ease of using it. And those other moms I know have moved to Britax for their convertible seats. I am excited for when we can turn the seat FF (forward-facing) & may try to revisit my review here after turning him around.

Pros:
*CS feature - We got the CS feature because many family members like to buckle him in and we want them to recognize when the belt is snug enough. There is even a picture on the chest buckle that shows the user where it's supposed to be, and the click you hear when it's snug enough is a good way to help them check for snugness (Don't assume hearing the click as a green light that they're snug enough, you still need to check for any slack).
*Plush - even the shoulder pads are soft & thicker than what we had on our Chicco KeyFit30. There is a little circular pad that cushions the buckle near the crotch, which is nice, but kind of annoying because it gets in the way when I'm trying to buckle a wiggly toddler in.
*I value the ease of use and ease of installation because I was going to be the one loading my toddler in/out of it most of the time. Directions were easy to follow and if you can read, you can install it.
*Hardware is built well.
*Britax is a reputable company, and had positive reviews both online and from moms I know. [...] was a great online resource.

We needed to be able to fit 2 rear-facing car seats in our 2010 Toyota Prius, and my husband needed to be able to push the driver's seat back far enough to drive (he's 6 feet tall). We put the Britax seat on the driver's side and our Graco Snugride 35 on the passenger side (it takes up more room than the Britax seat). Both seats fit (barely) and my husband can drive comfortably (I, on the other hand, am squished sitting in front of the Graco...I'm 5'2").

Things I like: A rear-facing high weight limit seat that fits in a compact car! Miracle of miracles! Easy install, easy to adjust, baby seems comfortable. At 30 inches he has plenty of leg room. Also this thing is built like a tank, so I feel that baby is well-protected. Did not require a rolled-up towel or pool noodle to get the right angle either.

Things I don't like: Hard to get baby in and out of seat because Prius door frame is so narrow and the sides of the car seat so high (I've bumped my head a few times). Seat is heavy, I'm so not taking this on an airplane.

We considered buying a smaller convertible car-seat, such as the Combi Cocorro, but we didn't want something our son would out-grow so quickly (it has a weight limit of 40 lbs). The Britax seems huge in our car but at least I know it will last him a long time.
