5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the price.
We have this car seat and an Evenflo Triumph. This was twice the price of the Evenflo, but is sooo much easier to use. Adjustments are simple and it's a snap to install. The belts and the seat padding on the Britax have a more substantial feel to them, and the belts don't tangle as often. We're always fighting with the belts on the Evenflo, but the Britax belts rarely...

3.0 out of 5 stars Regal - Lower class than other Britax Boulevards
We bought it since it has great safety reviews but I expected it would be similar to other Boulevard models I saw in the store.
So far the light fabric is totally different than photo, and it isn't soft and cozy like other Boulevards. This one is pretty rough, reminds me of fabric used for diaper bags. It is not a solid color either. BabyAge has better picture than...

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the price., October 10, 2007

We have this car seat and an Evenflo Triumph. This was twice the price of the Evenflo, but is sooo much easier to use. Adjustments are simple and it's a snap to install. The belts and the seat padding on the Britax have a more substantial feel to them, and the belts don't tangle as often. We're always fighting with the belts on the Evenflo, but the Britax belts rarely tangle. This may sound petty, but a tangled belt doesn't offer good protection in a crash. My son has used this seat since he was 8 months old and the head wings don't bother him either. As a matter of fact, it gives him a place to rest his head when he falls asleep in the car. Lastly, if you have an older car without LATCH, then a Britax is definitely the way to go. The lock-offs insure the seat will not move more than an inch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Used this seat 2 1/2 years and still going, January 16, 2008
This review is from: Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Regal (Baby Product)
We bought this carseat when my son turned 10 months old. We bought it because of the side impact protection, in my opinion every carseat should have it. He is now 3 and he still loves his carseat. It has remained in perfect condition especially for everything we have put it through, it is very easy to change from car to car if needed, the material is easy to clean, and the no-tangle straps are a life saver. I have seen other reviews of people complaining of the strap between the legs not being adjustable but my son is in the 75% height and 50% weight and we have never had any trouble with it and in fact he still has room to grow. Some have even said the wings for the side impact get in the way of the child, my son has never had an issue with them but it is all he knows, infact when he falls asleep they are perfect to rest his head on. The material of this carseat is also breathable so if its hot or your child gets sweaty it will not be uncomfortable. The price of this seat is well worth it my son still has more room to grow in it. We were so pleased we bought one for my daughter when she outgrew her infant carrier. Absolutely no complaints!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy - I got what I paid for!, November 8, 2007

This car seat was SO much easier to install than the Evenflo Titan I had originally bought. I love the adjustable harness, and the seat is very cushy.

BTW - it is large, but it fits in the middle of my Toyota Prius just fine. I simply removed the head rest of the middle seat. Having a small car, I also appreciate the side impact protection this seat offers.

My two year old loves this seat. I will never purchase a non-Britax seat again. This is DEFINITELY worth the extra money.

The instructions are great, too. They feature photographs, not crappy drawings that are hard to follow.

I was expecting this seat to weigh a ton, based on some of the reviews posted here. Yes, it is heavier than your average seat, but it's nothing you couldn't easily carry around the block several times. It certainly weighs less than my toddler!

Great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, solid car seat, January 9, 2008

I am very impressed with the Britax Boulevard car seat. I purchased this seat after reading the Wall Street Journal article on seats with side impact protection. The build quality on the Boulevard is extremely high. The materials all feel first-rate and well-built -- much more so than on the infant car seat which it replaces for our family. It is possible (and easy) to secure this seat extremely tightly to our 2003 Toyota Corolla using the LATCH system so that there is almost no wiggle at all in the connections. We have a relatively small car, but this car seat fits in the Corolla without difficulty. Finally, some shoppers may appreciate knowing that this high-quality product is manufactured in the USA (Charlotte, NC) not in China. (Maybe this is why the manual is so much easier to read than was the one for our previous seat.)

Comment about seller: Fast shipping, short defect reporting time (7 days)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great car seat!, December 25, 2007
This review is from: Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Regal (Baby Product)
I spent several weeks researching carseats from all different sources. (Word of mouth, internet, consumer reports, etc.) Friends said that the cheaper car seats were just as safe and not to spend the extra money for a Britax. Many websites have reviews that have parents saying spending more is worth it. It comes down to a personal choice. While the more inexpensive car seats have to be safety approved they do not feel as secure to me. We drive a SUV and I love the sturdy feel of the Britax car seats. It works great with our latch system and even has an extra tether for rear-facing use. The carseat does not wiggle when pushed. It seems as if it is a part of the vechicle itself. I would not want to take out/reinstall often, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who need a two-vehicle car seat. I would recommend it for those who want to feel like they have bought the best they could for their child. Our 9 month old used it for the first time this past weekend and he loved it! The Boulevard has a nice adjustable head rest that allows a sleeping child neck support. The material is not scratchy or rough like another review stated. It may not be fluffy soft, but it seems very durable and easy to clean, which is important if the child will be eating in the seat.

The front harness latch does have a small issue, it does not click loudly like our old Graco infant seat. After reading the reviews, I have made it a habit to make sure that it is latched by giving a firm tug. It has always been latched, I think I am just used to hearing a loud click.

Overall, I am very happy with our purchase and will never go back to the other brands for a second car seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST CARSEAT EVER!!, November 27, 2007
This review is from: Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Regal (Baby Product)
This is the best carseat ever, worth every penny. I love the fact that the seatbelt height can be adjusted without moving the seat out of the car. I also love the circular piece of fabric around the crotch latch - it protects little thighs! This carseat has more padding than any carseat I've ever seen - and my main concern was comfort. It worked great rear-facing and it's really awesome front-facing. I highly recommend this carseat if you can afford it - it truly is worth every penny, considering how long it can be used. I only wish the pink version had been available when we were shopping, but we love this seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Britax Car Seats!, November 3, 2007
This review is from: Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Regal (Baby Product)
We purchased two Britax Boulevards for our cars. The car seat is so easy to install & use on a daily basis. I know my son is as safe as he can be in this seat. No complaints here, well worth the money. I would definitely recommend this seat to anyone!

2.0 out of 5 stars Trouble tightening straps, January 1, 2008
By
This review is from: Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Regal (Baby Product)
We had the Britax Roundabout for my son which was an incredible carseat. I swore I would always buy a Britax after that. Since my son just outgrew his seat, we purchased the Britax Boulevard. We have had so much trouble tightening the straps. Once we buckle him in, we pull the strap as much as we can and there is still a lot of give. It just isn't safe. It has been such an ordeal every time we use it. Have any other parents had this issue or do I have a defective seat? Also, as some of the other parents wrote, the bottom buckle does not click and never has. My biggest gripe with Britax is every time I have called them, they have been rude and completely unhelpful. After spending $200-300 on a seat, one would expect customer service to be a little better. I will definitely look for another brand of seat next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT CAR SEAT!!!, February 29, 2008
This review is from: Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Regal (Baby Product)
I love Britax and this car seat. We have both the Boulevard and the Companion and both of them have their advantage and disadvantage. It is important to follow the installation instructions completely. If you are unable to get a good installation, then take the car seat to your dealership, fire department, police department, hospital, highway council and ask for help.

It is important to put your knee in the car seat while pulling the straps instructed so the seat will be a perfect fit to your vehicle. If you are installing using the straps over the back of a third row seat vehicle, make sure you use a towel or some type of covering between the straps and the top of the car seat so you do not harm your seats. If the top of your seat is pulling downward, then you probably have it too tightly. Make sure you use a towel or mat in between the bottom of the car seat and your vehicle seat because if you have leather interior, it will mess up your seats without protection.

The straps on the car seat pretty much stays in place without tangling. If by chance it does tangle, it is a much easier fix than the straps on the companion car seat.

Yes, it is heavy so once it is in; we try to keep in without moving it. If it is installed on a third row seat, if you have to remove it, try exiting the vehicle through the back than over the second row seats because for us it is much easier.

We have never tried the seat as an infant seat or rear facing so I cannot comment on that feature. However, front facing is not a problem and the straps are more than a tight fit. It is very easy to adjust the straps without a hassle.

While attaching the latch between the baby's legs, I do not recall hearing a click but I might have but what we do is after we have inserted the clips, we pull on the belt just to make sure it is in.

My only gripe is the information booklet. It is impossible or near impossible to remove the installation booklet from the car seat without using scissors because it is designed to remain attached to the car seat but under the seat cover. The remedy I found was to go Britax website, download the PDF manual and read the manual from the computer. When I needed a diagram or specific instructions, I printed the document, took it to my vehicle and fixed the problem.

The price for the seats differ based upon the style of the cover. If the cover is a newly released style, then the price will be higher. Older styles are lower but from my understanding the seats are the same. Therefore, you might be paying a higher price for a certain pattern and not the workmanship of the car seat which is more important. If you like a certain style of covering you can always purchase an extra seat cover of the style of your choice. Certain stores have certain patterns as all vendors do not carry the same patterns but again it is the seat cover that is the difference in the cost of the different car seats. Before you purchase the car seat and you want to be certain that the workmanship has not changed, call customer service. They helped me and I am sure that they will help you as well.

I feel that this seat is a safe seat and a good seat. It is worth the money because you should not skimp on your baby's safety even with the hassle of installing and carrying this seat from one destination to another.
