Designed for use with theBritax Chaperone Infant Car Seat, the Chaperone Infant Car Seat Base self-guides the infant car seat into the proper, securely-locked position every time. This base eliminates the need for guess work once it has been installed into your vehicle. Plus, the patented, anti-rebound bar stabilizes the car seat and minimizes rotational forces during impact for added safety.

Easy-to-Install and Adjust
The Chaperone Base allows for quick, easy installation with lower LATCH connectors, compatible with most current vehicles. The premium, push-button system provides a tight, secure fit and makes it simple to install or remove. Or, you can use your vehicle's safety belt to secure the base to the car.

The built-in lock-off feature secures your vehicle's safety belt so that the car seat does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path. The recline-adjustment knob allows you to quickly adjust the height of the base for proper seat angle and positioning.

We have the Britax Chaperone carseat, and love it. It's sturdier than other carseats and has side impact protection, which most brands don't have. The base is rather large, but it has that additional safety bar that rests against the seat, making the carseat safer than other brands. The base does hang off the seat a few inches, but we had it checked by safety officials and they said it's fine. I drive a Honda CR-V and it fits my middle seat just fine. My only complaint is that the LATCH attachment isn't long enough to use in the middle seat of my husband's GMC Sierra truck crew cab. So, we have to use the seat belt to strap it in instead of the LATCH to keep the carseat in the middle back seat. My CR-V doesn't have LATCH, so we use the seat belt to strap it down anyway.

If you're looking for safety, this is definitely the infant car seat for you. We purchased this car seat after doing quite a bit of research. I have to agree with other reviews as they pertain to the size of this thing! I can see how this carseat may not be able to comfortably fit into a midsize to compact size car! We own a Yukon so the size isn't much of a hassle. That's the only downside to this. This car seat is very easy to handle. It easily attaches into both the base as well as the B-Ready stroller (Must purchase seperate). We purchased the B-Ready stroller as well and although it is a bit larger in size, especially when compared to most other strollers, it is VERY EASY to handle. We call it our 'lil doombuggy'! The B-Ready stroller can hold up to two children at once, which was another reason we decided to go with this brand. All-in-all, we realized that this particular car seat and stroller were a bit pricier then others, I really think it is well worth the price! "You get what you pay for" and you definitely will not be disappointed!

Sturdy design. Airline lost my carseat and base this past week. They gave me a loaner car seat. Needless to say, I quickly discovered the difference in quality.
