We have the Britax Chaperone carseat, and love it. It's sturdier than other carseats and has side impact protection, which most brands don't have. The base is rather large, but it has that additional safety bar that rests against the seat, making the carseat safer than other brands. The base does hang off the seat a few inches, but we had it checked by safety officials and they said it's fine. I drive a Honda CR-V and it fits my middle seat just fine. My only complaint is that the LATCH attachment isn't long enough to use in the middle seat of my husband's GMC Sierra truck crew cab. So, we have to use the seat belt to strap it in instead of the LATCH to keep the carseat in the middle back seat. My CR-V doesn't have LATCH, so we use the seat belt to strap it down anyway.

If you're looking for safety, this is definitely the infant car seat for you. We purchased this car seat after doing quite a bit of research. I have to agree with other reviews as they pertain to the size of this thing! I can see how this carseat may not be able to comfortably fit into a midsize to compact size car! We own a Yukon so the size isn't much of a hassle. That's the only downside to this. This car seat is very easy to handle. It easily attaches into both the base as well as the B-Ready stroller (Must purchase seperate). We purchased the B-Ready stroller as well and although it is a bit larger in size, especially when compared to most other strollers, it is VERY EASY to handle. We call it our 'lil doombuggy'! The B-Ready stroller can hold up to two children at once, which was another reason we decided to go with this brand. All-in-all, we realized that this particular car seat and stroller were a bit pricier then others, I really think it is well worth the price! "You get what you pay for" and you definitely will not be disappointed!

Sturdy design. Airline lost my carseat and base this past week. They gave me a loaner car seat. Needless to say, I quickly discovered the difference in quality.

We love this carrier base (and the corresponding carrier). It is big and may not fit in every car, but we like how safe and secure it makes our twin babies. We drive a Lexus RX and Lexus GS and it fits both.

This infant carrier/base rated great with Consumer Reports, but be forewarned that the carrier is longer than other infant carriers, and it makes my front passenger seat practically unusable except for the shortest of people. (I drive a Subaru Forester.) I've noticed others' infant carriers are not as long/big as mine, so I'm guessing you're comprising size for the extra safety. Depending on how many people you typically drive around in your car, this may or may not be an acceptable compromise for you ...

I have been pleased with all the Britax Products for my three children. We have the Britax Chaperone Travel System and two Britax Car Seat. We bought this extra base so it was easier to switch the car seat between our two vehicles.

Exact duplicate of the one that comes with the matching seat. Works great. Double the value of the car seat.

My son and daughter-in-law just had their first little boy. They researched like mad on every single thing they bought. They chose the Britax Infant Carrier, and I bought just the base. Now one carrier is three (yes her parents got one as well) and we can all take the baby with us! I feel absolutely 100% certain that this is the best of the best, because mom is a doctor and dad is a fireman - both deal with this issue and make recommendations to the public. So get this for your family and then get bases for all. AMAZON had the best price on these carriers.

We ordered this as a second base for our carseat so we would not have to move the original inbetween vehicles, the base is obviously the correct one or we would not have ordered it, the place we purchased it from need to be better about answering e-mails we were suppose to receive the base by Feb. 2 when it had not showed up we contacted them and they e-mail back saying they would send another out out as they thought the first one got lost they said we should have it in 4-5 days, that time passed no base we contacted them again, never received a reply from them one way or the other but the item finally arrived yesterday Feb. 15 only 13 days late!!
