ISOFLEX Flexible Lower LATCH System Secures Booster
An easy-to-use connection system, the ISOFLEX Flexible Lower LATCH Connection System works to secure the booster seat to your vehicle. Two clicks and a pull on either side of the booster seat provide a firm anchor that stabilizes the seat during a crash and prevents it from becoming a projectile when not in use.

SecureGuard Technology Keeps Your Child Safely in Place
In addition, the PARKWAY SGL features SecureGuard technology, which works with your vehicle's own safety belt. The SecureGuard clip holds the lap portion of the seat belt in place, preventing submarining--when a child slides under the lap belt--and reducing the risk of abdominal injury.

True Side Impact Protection
The PARKWAY SGL Booster Seat is ideal for parents concerned with providing proper safety and posture-support for their child during car rides. Offering True Side Impact Protection, this seat delivers superior protection if you happen to face an unexpected side-impact accident.

If such an event takes place, the solid head support and deep side walls work efficiently to distribute crash forces, shield the child from vehicle intrusion, contain the head and body, and keep the head, neck, and spine aligned to limit injury.

Ease-of-Use and Fit & Comfort Features
The booster seat offers convenience for both you and your child. The comfortable armrests and retractable dual cup-holders provide extra touches that offer greater comfort to your child. With features like a removable backrest, color-coded vehicle belt guides, and a head restraint that adjusts with one hand, the booster seat can be easily adapted to properly fit your growing child.

Made from soft, durable materials, the booster seat's cover is easy to remove from the shell for cleaning and is available in a selection of bold colors, including Livia, Cardinal, Cloudburst, and Nutmeg.

The BRITAX PARKWAY SGL Booster Seat is backed by a limited one-year warranty.

I received our booster on July 29 and was very nervous about using it. Our son is only 3.5 but by his build, they recommend using a booster. Still, I wasn't 100% comfortable with it so I chose the Parkway SGL because of the latch and (more importantly) the SecureGuard.

Well, one week later on Aug 6, he was involved in a fairly serious car accident with his grandmother. I was out of town but was told the paramedics commented that the booster was great and did exactly what it was supposed to do. Our son had only a little tenderness in his chest and shoulder and otherwise, not even a scratch.

Unfortunately, we had to buy a different model to get him home in because this one is only available online. However, I may still buy yet another. Clearly, it did exactly what we needed it to do. The day after the accident, he was playing like nothing happened.

I realize there are many safe seats out there... but this one is a winner all the way around to me. Easy to secure, easy to use, low profile (I have a Corolla) and provided amazing protection...

*Edited May 8, 2013 to add: there have been several comments lately that focused on the age of my son when I put him in the booster. I considered editing the review to remove his age because I didn't want to distract from the product information but I didn't want it to appear that he was any younger than he was when we transitioned. The important thing about this review is how the booster performed in the car accident. This is a product review and not an endorsement of starting a booster at any particular age. If anyone felt that it was, I'm sorry it seemed that way. There are many, many resources on car seat safety and I highly recommend doing a ton of research.

This is a nicely designed seat, but has few issues. We like the latch connectors that are easy to use, overall comfort and fit. The fabrics choices are poor compared to older Britax seats, like the first generation of Parkway booster. Cardinal is slippery and noisy nylon. Would be easy to clean, but would you let your kid sit on something so uncomfortable, particularly in summer? Nah. We returned it and got Cloudburst instead - I think this is the only soft-touch fabric available for the SGL model (it is similar to touch to Maui Blue we have on Britax Frontier 85 seat).

Also the belt guides are over-designed and can cause the belt to jam, depending on the position of the belt and with what force it retracts. This is a serious safety issue if the kid leans forward and the belt does not retract. Luckily the belt guides from Parkway SG model can be retrofitted to it (they fit perfect), although they have the opposite problem of letting the belt slip out (Hello, Britax, I wonder, is it that hard to design decent belt guide? Some common sense would be all that's needed one would think).

The seat has sharp edges in the back so you definitely want to use a seat protector in order to prevent scuffs to the upholstery.

Advice - if you are not going to use LATCH you're better off getting Parkway SG. We like LATCH because it keeps the seat in place and prevents it from becoming a projectile if unoccupied and not belted in in an accident.

UPDATE 9/29/11: The replacement guides for Parkway SG that you can directly order from Britax are perfect! They are different and improved than "stock" ones I saw on a Parkway SG. They do net let the belt slip out and there is no bump that would cause it to jam. Parkway SGL with the replacement SG belt guides is a perfect booster seat.

Color Name: Cloudburst Verified Purchase
I am a long time user of Britax car seats and love their products. I purchased the Parkway SGL in Cloudburst (the grey/black scheme) for my 7 year old, 48", 46lb daughter to use in a mid row Captain chair in a 2008 GMC Acadia. I was mainly interested in this product over the common Graco Turbobooster line for being slightly thinner, more padded, and most importantly using LATCH to secure the car seat to the car when there is no child in the seat.

Right off the bat let me hit the highlights: the seat fabric was soft (I understand other colors of this product use nylon like scratchy and hot material, the Cloudburst color is very soft and cotton like) and well cushioned, assembly was breeze (almost in seconds), weight was very light and finally the fit and finish said "quality." Using LATCH to secure it to my car seat took seconds and could not possibly have been easier! I LOVED IT!

AND THEN THE BIG, HUGE, SHOW STOPPING PROBLEM...

I threaded the shoulder harness of the car's seat belt through the red guide loop attached to the headrest of the Parkway SGL seat. Unlike other seats I have used the belt instantly felt like it had a "friction" when in the guide loop. Sure enough when my daughter sat buckled in the seat I saw that when she leaned forward the seat belt expanded (as it should) but when she sat back the friction of the guide loop prevented the seat belt from retracting to remain tight to her body, instead just hanging dangerously slack off her chest. This is a devastating issue. A quick glance at other Amazon.com reviews showed at least 10 other reviewers have had this issue but they had some success in getting replacement designed guide loops that fixed the issue.

Soooo... I immediately called Britax and described the issue.
